My dads kit was only marked as received by the lab today, a week after it was batched, whereas my own when it was done was marked as received by the lab on the 11th June, batched on the 12th june....

Same thing here. My cousin's kit was received 6 days ago, isn't yet batched or received by the lab. All of my other kits (6 of them direct tested) were received, batched, and rec'd by the lab within a couple of days. However, I've been at this since 2006 (National Genographic) and began the FF testing a couple of years ago. It's MUCH more popular now and this was a HUGE sale. My other kits were completed between 17 days and 6 weeks. I'm pretty sure this will be on the latter end or more.

Tis all bit hit and miss with them, maybe they are changing how they do things in the hope of being more accurate, being batched first then going to lab might make things more visible when we log in, when we've logged in and seen received by lab, and batched we've no idea then after that, but being batched then sent to the lab might mean its a better time line to see whats going on with it... I'd rather see it sitting as batched for a week then going to the lab, than to see it going to the lab and batched at the same time and not knowing where it is!!

        Who knows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This does sound plausible. I have had two tests received by FtDNA in the past week - one on the 9th, one on the 10th. Now the 15th and neither have yet been batched. My earlier kits were batched the day or two after being received.

Presumably the latest batch was/will be released today or tomorrow, and this lot will then be batched.

Oh,so were my kits! Batch 605 stating 3-4 weeks. I must have looked about an hour before they did it . I like it when they reach this point.

My two have also not been received by lab, but at least I know for sure they are there.

So maybe thats what they are doing now, batching before they go to the lab rather than afterwards, I'm in batch 604 and that was marked as received in the lab by the looks of it when yours were put into batch 605...

My cousin's kit is still not received by the lab. But, with a batch number, it should be good to go. Let's hope so. Funny, Loudam, that we're in the same place again. It's kind of like a reunion of sorts!

Ha Ha Shelly, obviously we have the same length of waiting time between Tests!!!!! I'm spared being due my baby this time though while waiting for my results!!!

Batch 605 here as well, though mine is an mtDNA test so now just have to wait 6-8 weeks.

Also in batch 605. Have FF and mtDNA one being done. Let's see what happens.

Have any FF results been uploaded this week? I've got a kit in batch 602 (received by the lab 27 Dec) that I thought might come through by yesterday/today. Nothing yet, but also no matches for any of the other kits I manage which makes me wonder if there have been any FF results released so far this week.

Same here. I checked so many times yesterday! Then I noticed that although my kit was batched on 25th Dec it was marked as 'Received by lab' on 30th December so there was a week delay.

Interesting that yours was received by lab three days sooner. I wonder if they waited till the 30th to start them all?

My quickest kit so far came through in two weeks four days. Batch 602 seems to be about that time frame now so I'm hoping any day now.

I also have had no other new matches since 13th Jan which I think were Ancestry transfers. I'm guessing they slipped a week over Christmas - but still hoping for a quick processing run.

                              Holiday Surge?

Perhaps many people gifted DNA Kits as Holiday presents, thus the FTDNA Lab might be busier than other times?

Interesting the different batch days as I always imagined them picking a day as a cut-off and then doing them all at once. I agree that they probably didn't start until the 30th then.
I also have a kit in batch 603 that was received on the 29th Dec and batched & received by the lab on the 1st of Jan. Both 602 and 603 show 1-2 weeks time estimate. The holiday and sale must definitely be impacting the schedule, maybe we'll see something next week for batch 602.

I was wondering if perhaps they haven't released any results at all this week for any FF kits, which would be a little strange.

The good news is that all the extra sales generated by the big holiday sale might mean lots of new matches to come in the next few months!
