How Many People actually get Family Finder Results in the 3-4 week time Frame given..

Batch 602

I have an FF test on batch 602, still no results. If any of you got results from batch 602, please update.

Even thought they have only just shown up, I notice that most of the new matches are dated 16th Jan, with one dated 17th Jan. Perhaps they are still catching up.

I think there is sometimes an overlap with batches in terms of results, and I often wonder if the ones that come in earlier than others are ones that were upgrades on kits that were already in FTDNA's database from other tests like Y Dna etc, it may speed up things when it's an upgrade versus a whole new kit

Okay. So Batch 603 is through ... but my father's kit in Batch 602 is still showing as 'waiting results'. Did the rest of Batch 602 come in? Is it time for me to query his results? Or is that whole batch still waiting?

3 dated the 16th, and one dated the 17th January

New matches for me as well. 3 dated 1/16 (Friday) but logged today (1/19 - Monday).

Good catch, MikeP! My cousin's kit changed from 3 - 4 weeks to 2 - 3 weeks today. He's getting quite impatient and eager to see his results. I know how that feels!

Mine always change on a sunday evening, my dads changed this evening sometime from 2-3 weeks to 1-2 weeks...

The days we get matches etc are possibly slightly variable due to time differences especially if they release them at different times of the day too..

Tuesday does seem to be a good day for results so we'll see what batches results are coming from this tuesday!!

predicted dates

I've noticed that the predicted dates drop on Sundays. Does this have any meaning? My kit was received on 1/3, watched on 1/8, and the predicted dates for my FF test dropped on the first and second Sundays from 3-4 to 2-3, now 1-2 ...

The others must be stragglers - reruns maybe, or privates who have gone public.

Or Ancestry or 23andMe transfers since those aren't really batched since they're not going through the lab and are simply processed in 2 - 3 business days.

December had new matches coming in on Thursday/Friday (Australia time). January is a bit all over the place but follows the same pattern as both of you.

My kit:

19th Dec - Friday - 3
30th Dec - Tuesday - 3
6th Jan - Tuesday - 3
7th Jan - Wed - 2
13th Jan - Tuesday - 1

My son's:

19th Dec - Friday - 1
30th Dec - Tuesday - 1
6th Jan - Tuesday - 3
7th Jan - Wed - 2
9th Jan - Fri - 1
13th Jan - Tuesday - 2
15th Jan - Thurs - 1

I guess we should be looking at Tuesday for the batch release. I had a kit in batch 601 which came through on the 7th Jan, so there hasn't been another batch completion. The others must be stragglers - reruns maybe, or privates who have gone public. Unless 602 is through and my kit had a problem. Always in the back of my mind.

Lots of Fridays as well, almost no Mondays or Wednesdays.

So, other than and couple here and there on Mondays and Wednesdays, and the large group on Monday 12/29 (probably a holiday thing since their office was open then), most of mine are coming in on Tuesdays (20 matches), Thursdays (6 matches) and Fridays (6 matches). Tuesday is the clear winner.
