Here is how things stack up as of today :

    #2.........9/29/14...1/21/15...593

    #4........10/23/14...N/A.......596
    #5........10/19/14...N/A.......596
One of my cousin's kits was in batch 590. He received results on 12/30/14. Another cousin's kits is in batch 596...here's hoping in the next couple weeks as there have been some in batch 595 receiving their results this week.

    • Batch 598 y-37 expected complete pushed out

Yesterday they were still saying 1-2 weeks for each of the 3 panels. Now it has been updated with the following:

      Tests Lab Procedure Batch Expected
      Y-DNA37 Y-DNA1-12 Markers 598 4-6 Weeks
      Y-DNA37 Y-DNA13-25 Markers 598 2-4 Weeks
      Y-DNA37 Y-DNA26-37 Markers 598 2-4 Weeks

      with the following Notes:
Results for your Y-DNA testing have been delayed. We have updated your predicted completion date, and action by you is not usually required. Note that predicted dates are an estimate and subject to lab volume and quality control.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the "expected results" predictions. Some have reported ydna results from batch 601 and then there are others like yourself that still haven't received results for older orders. The company should have posted that they were having delays, either on their website or in an email to customers, instead of stringing people along with false expected completion dates. Hopefully, you'll get your results sooner than the new dates given.

        • On a kit in my project from 598, suddenly the same message as above. This is an Y-DNA 111 marker test, all the panels were postponed. The date shown to the administrators is 3 weeks from today (the average from 2-4 weeks ).

            BATCH 596 Y37

            2 -4 weeks for 12 markers
1-2 weeks for other markers up to Y 37

I think you have awhile to go. Probably at least another month for batch 598.

            • Don't understand

I don't understand why, if a sample needs to be re-run, they don't just indicate that. That way the individual involved would know why their results are not coming out with others from their batch and not have false expectations ...

Same here. So now, from what I have seen, I am waiting another day, week, month or maybe more. Who the hell knows anymore.

                  • YSEQ

YSEQ has their combined Alpha and Beta panels at $85 US. The markers tested are the same as 1-28 + DYS438 (29 Markers) on the FTDNA Y37 Test.

                    DYS393 DYS390 DYS19 DYS391 DYS385 DYS426 DYS388 DYS439 DYS389I DYS392 DYS389II DYS458 DYS459 DYS455 DYS454 DYS447 DYS437 DYS448 DYS449 DYS464 DYS460
                    Y-GATA-H4 YCAII DYS456 DYS607 DYS576 DYS570 CDY DYS438

From there you can add these if you want too have a comparable 37 marker test.
                    DYS442 for $9.95
                    DYS531 for $9.95
                    DYS578 for $9.95

                      Maybe FTDNA should hire them.

It is indeed disturbing, not only that Y-STR panels are still delayed by months, but that when they do arrive, they are still often incomplete (missing one or more markers).

They did when they acquired DNA-Fingerprint. Since then though Thomas and Astrid left Gene by Gene and started YSEQ about a year ago.

                          • Looks like some results are being rolled out; I've gotten several notifications for new matche to project members, with dates from 1/9 to 1/19.

                            • The estimated dates just changed on the y37 test I'm waiting on in batch 599. 1-12, 13-25 and 26-37 all used to say 1-2 weeks... Friday would have been the end of that. Now the 1-12 says 01/01/2015-01/15/2015... making it late... and the other two say 01/15/2015-01/29/2015.
                              Anyone else?

I'm seeing the same on project pages; ranges of about 2 weeks listed rather than specific target dates.
