All of my tests had to go through "batches" years ago. I see folks here are still getting batch numbers,but I recently ordered more tests for family members but haven't been assigned any batch numbers yet. What gives?

First, orders are batched once a week, usually on Wednesdays, sometimes Thursdays. Orders made before those days aren't put in a batch until those days.
Since today is Friday and a new batch was just formed, but you're still writing about your order not being batched, it's probably due to the second reason. That's that orders placed but not paid for aren't batched. The order is not placed in a batch until either a credit card payment is made or FTDNA has received a check from you.
Have you paid for your tests or are they sitting there waiting to be paid for?
