    Aha! Now I understand.

I assume the fixes will include both Gedcoms and the missing mtDNA.

I couldn't get 2 of my projects (R1a & U5b). I know I have a weak internet connection, so I thought maybe I'll wait until I get hooked up again to cable. But now I see others are having problems with FTDNA home site.

When I view my yDNA matches Firefox reasuringly tells me "The connection to this website is secure"
However when I view my Family Finder matches it tells me "The connection to this website is not fully secure because it contains unencrypted elements"

A bit of digging reveals it is just the matches thumbnail photos that are being retrieved over http instead of https which is causing the warning.

Pages where nobody has setup a photo are fully secure.

          A minor bug?

SURNAME & PROJECTS ALL DOWN +MANY ISSUES

So all surname & other projects are inaccessible on the internet; am warning new members not to join yet.

All Gedcoms further compromised- all matches in Family Finder are showing with Gedcoms which when clicked take you to your own Gedcom- not theirs.

In GAP: lots of members are showing as 'Received Results' with tag DNA Exctraction- "What's That?" Even so , the member has no new results at all.

Everything is soooo slooow to load.

Every new front page upgrade to the website appears to destroy all the vital links to the database.

Is there a 'Hacker in the House' ???

Can't access any surname projects. Can't access any gedcoms. It just goes to my own, which is "great" since I don't have one! There is no way to get back to the initial Ftdna "Home" page anymore when I want to without getting off the web site completely & then re-entering it.

I can no longer access my own genetic genealogy project:

                http://www.familytreedna.com/public/jubbie-genealogy

when I try to open it I am getting the following error message:

"This web page has a redirect loop"

Is it just me or is this the same for everyone?

                AARRGGHH!

To confirm that I'm noticing some of the problems mentioned here.

                  (1) Can't navigate to any of the surname or regional projects that I belong to. It takes me back to my home page.

                  (2) Can't open any of the GEDCOMs that appear on my family finder matches. It loads my own.

                    Houston we have a problem

What is happening? I can only look at my results on the weekends now, so haven't logged in all week. Logged in this morning, and it is so slow that I can hardly get anything to load. Get the Houston error when trying to access projects that I have joined.

                      Hi,

Can you give me an example of a project you are unable to access and tell me where you found the link to it? Thanks!

The project that I was trying to access was the McKee surname group. I can access the group, but when I click on the link to show the table of results, I get the Houston error. After a couple of trys, it will work.

I'm still having other issues. The website is very slow to load, and the profile button seems to have issues. When I click to view a profile, sometimes the profile won't completely load. When it does completely load, it won't go away. I have to click the back button on my browser to go back to a screen that doesn't show the profile.

The slowness of the website is so frustrating. I got so tired of it, I moved to ancestry and started working with my brother's results there. In the past, ancestry has been extremely slow. However, today, ancestry is much faster for me than FTDNA.

When trying to load pages, if I hover my curser over a match, I see javascript void at the bottom. Once I move the cursor away from the match, I see "waitng on my.familytreedna.com."

I am certainly not the most computer literate person alive, so there could be some issue with my browser or computer settings. However, it should not be this hard. Earlier today, I was able to log in. But when I tried to logout of one kit and go to another, I got the message that the website was not available. Based on some things I read here, I went in and cleared my cache. After that, I was able to load. However, I have never had to do that in the past.

While I love to see new features at FTDNA (like the matrix function and x matching), my most important need is access to my data.
