When they receive the slough from the inside of your cheek they have absolutely no way of knowing which bits of which chromosome came from which parent.

How close were your top matches?

Are you asking for admixture analysis based on phased data ?

Need More Info From Family Finder Results

I recently got my results from the Family Finder Test and am not really impressed with what I am receiving for my money. I could wait a lifetime to find a relative that may have had their DNA tested and matched up with mine.
FTDNA has to offer something that a person feels satisfied with whether a match that leads to a distant relative or not. FTDNA has all the info regarding the clients Paternal and Maternal Autosomal DNA so why don't they give a breakdown of the ancestry on each side of the client as far back as possible. I am certain if this was included in their present Family Finder Test then they would have a never ending line-up for this test. As in my case I am of mixed ancestry and race(what they call Heinz 57 mixture) so I really would appreciate a breakdown of what I am. I have been tracing my ancestry for the past 3 years and am hoping that FTDNA would give me this info which would unlock many doors that seem to be closed permanently.
