Pedigree page - all persons move with curser

When I am on the pedigree page it appears like the persons all get locked onto my curser?? If I hit the - or the + I am able to move to one person on the tree but one more click makes them all move & follow me again?? Why.
Also would like to know how to return to the main page/ beginning from this location - the one that comes up after you log into this account. Thanks.
