  • Chromosome Browser Download Error

Just sent in this bug report:

Attempting to download all matches in Chromosome Browser results in an HTML file of 9 kb, rather than a .csv file. Attempting to open that file gives a "Houston" error. Please check and advise.

Are any others seeing this error?

Trying to download using Safari with El Capitan yields error reported above. Trying with Chrome or Firefox yields "page not found" error.

This occurs only when trying to download all files. CSV file of 5 selected matches downloads correctly.

I tried this with two kits that I manage, both with Safari, and got the same result as you (.html file, "Houston," etc).

I then quickly tried one kit using Opera, which gives a window before downloading. This window showed that it would be downloading an HTML document, "9.0 KB." I didn't bother going through with the download.

My system is OSX 10.9.5 (Mavericks). Safari is 9.0.2, Opera is 12.16. Hope they get this issue fixed soon.

        .

Please send in an error report. The more they get the more likely they will fix it soon.

Error report has been sent, and I have a request ID number. I'll report when I get a reply.

              Any Update?

The problem is still there as of 1/12. Has anyone had a reply from FTDNA?

Darren, if you are monitoring this thread, this error is a serious one and we would appreciate an update.

I sent an error report yesterday, no reply - but just tried and while I did get an error (webpage not available, if memory serves - in Chrome), the download eventually started and it seems to be complete.

Just tried again (twice) and no issues, so maybe it has just been resolved.

I haven't received a reply to my error report either, but like jah1223 I am now able to download the .csv files. This is using Safari, v. 9.0.2.

ditto to the no reply to bug report.
Ditto to the report that now if you wait the file does download.
Yesterday the progress wheel stopped with no file produced (Chrome and Firefox)
Today yes you get the same error messages but the download is proceeding in background and eventually arrives.

Tried 4 or 5 times using Chrome on a Windows 7.0 machine. That's a big "No Go", Houston. Submitted a bug report. Got an ID, but no response. But since it was only about 5 minutes ago, I don't expect one yet.

                            Here's the error message:
