SNP test 109 How are SNPS Chosen for Test?

If I ordered an SNP test for the 109. How are the SNPs chosen, is their a particular set chosen for Haplogroup based on what may be more helpful in narrowing parameters, or is it a random choice by FTDNA or is the customer expected to choose on his own.

The Haplogroup project administrators often work with FTDNA to pick the SNPs to be included.
