[----] I have project participants whose country isn't in the selection choice, with the exception of those in the USA, Canada, Australia, Tonga, French Polynesia & New Zealand. But the other countries (I counted 4) where I have people from, it just does not exist.
I think the FIFA list is the most comprehensive one . And I do not think it is copyrighted . It is only missing Great Britain , since it has England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales
Surely the ultimate list of most of the countries**** is difficult to navigate when not using a decently large screen.
There could be a selector, for example
Americas,
Africa,
Asia,
Australia,
Europe,
Oceania.
Some countries, like Russia, would need to be entered twice, but the selector should create shorter, easier to navigate lists.
I like that selector/drop down menu option idea. That could work.

Much larger problem is that this year FTDNA silently withdraw from their long standing position that the country of the direct maternal or paternal origin is the US only if one has Amerindian ancestry!!!
By the way, FTDNA please tell us what these two entries (in addition to India and Iran) mean?
When I go into the Most Distant Ancestor section of the GENEALOGY tab after going to Manage Personal Information, trying to update information under COUNTRY OF ORIGIN, it's annoying to not have the countries of my project members. So when I look at the Y-DNA or mtDNA results page, I get a bunch of "unknown" because my project members couldn't input their country.
It seems a set of countries were automatically put in. And don't give me the excuse of how we don't represent the larger number or population, etc.
Seriously, do we get tons of people from Bangladesh, Bernin (really?), Bhutan of all places and Bahran taking DNA tests? And if we go by numbers, Saint Kitts & Nevis has a population about 54,000, while Guernsey has a population of 65,000. And let's not forget how many people in the Faroe Islands, just 49,000 yet we get to have them listed because we apparently get some people testing from there?
Are we even aware of cultural aspects, like people in Qatar and Kazakhstan would have issues about getting DNA tested at their own expense?
