A vote for dnagedcom ICW & Not ICW download

Just to piggyback on a suggestion I saw earlier in this thread...

I am trying to trace my paternal lineage. My dad passed away but I recently my mom's FF results were posted. So in addition to an ICW download to dnagedcom I hope that they can support a Not ICW download in the future. That would sure be easier than referencing my Not In Common with list while view the ADSA file.

From Robs facebook page it looks like the download problem is mostly fixed. You may want to give it a try, excellent reporting tool.

I am not affiliated in any way with FTDNA, but given that is a highly desired convenience and not a necessity, I would download Family Finder data to one's own computer system and then uploaded there.

    I would not wait...

Note that Dnaged.com cannot be used with those of Ashkenazi background---too many matches. Most recent communication from company after a number of aborted attempts.

If they are going to prevent us from using this tool, they should provide us with an equivalent or better toll!!!

We wouldn't have to rely on third party tools if FTDNA provided tools that were equally useful. Instead of developing such DNA tools, they waste their time and money on trees, which are not in their sphere at all.

It’s incredibly frustrating. I’ve found the tools at DNAGedcom invaluable for making sense of the FF matches, and making best use of this site.

I see Rob has made a Facebook post suggesting FTDNA provide an ICW download. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to link to it, but it should be easy enough to find.

It would seem to be an ideal solution all round.

Why is Family Tree denying these downloads to DNAgedcom? I really need this tool. I can use the tool for my own data because it was uploaded to DNAgedcom previously but now I want to download my husband's data. I really need this tool to match segments from two kits from Ancestry which are now on GEDmatch. This is a case of adoption a hundred years ago but we have no way to compare a particular segment with kits from Family Tree except with the segment analyzer tool on DNAgedcom.

Again, FTDNA is being annoying and irritating.

Hi Susan. Exactly. My mother has tested, but not my father. I have been able to discern what matches come from my mother's or father's side with more certitude. I have some new matches and would love to use the tool. Hopefully, the issue will be fixed soon.
