  • Chromosome 13 fail to match section

I have been in the process of phasing out my families maternal/paternal chromosome values using to date 13 close family members kits (myself and 5 siblings, Mother, Maternal Uncle, Maternal Aunt, Father, Paternal Uncle, Paternal Aunt, Father's Paternal 1st Cousin)

My Father and his side of the family tested on Chip used between May 2012 and April 2013 which tested 707269 SNP's. The rest on Chips used after this.

I have noticed a section of Chromosome 13 that FTDNA may want to look at to adjust their algorithm that misses due to latest chips recording the opposite side of the DNA strand then what older chip did. ie records A on one chip and T on other, and C for G.

    A total of 43 SNP's in a row on Chromosome 13 from positions 113475773 to 113652806 (Build 36)

It causes a miss of approx. 1.73cM,237 SNP's, which is minor but may effect whether someone is determined a match or not by algorithm.

Chromosome browser results for my father to my siblings and myself are as follows

    START END cM SNPS
    17956717 113102327 124.75 27730
