"As of December 1, 2018, our policy regarding DNA uploads will change: DNA Matching will remain free for uploaded DNA data, but unlocking additional DNA features (for example, ethnicity estimate, chromosome browser, and some others) will require an extra payment for DNA files uploaded after this date. We will announce the full details of the new policy once it is finalized, closer to December 1st. All DNA data that was uploaded to MyHeritage in the past, and all DNA data that is uploaded now and prior to December 1, 2018, will continue to enjoy full access to all DNA features for free. These uploads will be grandfathered in and will remain free."

Also - they are now accepting 23andMe V5 . and LivingDNA.

And some of you may be interested in what they are referring to as The Theory of Family Relativity (starts c35 minutes in): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dlcu..._date=20180311 As far as I know, it is not implemented yet, but should majorly simplify trying to compare trees, and possibly make it unnecessary to ask FTDNA to spend time on Tree enhancements here.

So - Use FTDNA to test - then transfer to MyHeritage (pref. before Dec 1!!) - and put at least a little tree up at MyHeritage (a tree of up to 250 profiles is free there, transferring is free there - and if you transfer before Dec.1 2018, all the Premium Features will be free and stay free - but apparently not if transfer after Dec 1.

Thanks for the notice, I started a small tree there recently and kind of like how they have trees set up so far. I will get some other family members over there asap

Yes, thank you Loobster! I did the free transfer back in May and have built a small tree on MH. I've been meaning to transfer the other kits I manage and I really appreciate your notice regarding the upcoming deadline. I've been delighted with all I've been able to do on MH for free so far. I had a feeling this deal would not last forever. I like the automatic chromosome browser triangulation feature and the fact that there are lots of good public trees to look at.

I tried to upload my FTDNA raw data to MyHeritage but it kept telling me it wasn't a valid file. When I contacted them to see what the problem was, I got an email back from them saying I should forward the file to them via email and they would upload it for me. Has anyone else had this problem and would forwarding them my raw data file be a wise thing to do?

Epiphyte, when I uploaded my second kit to MyHeritage, their software became confused. When I got new matches, the software did not know which kit to assign them to. Not only was the software confused, so was I. I deleted my second kit and am now living happily thereafter.

I have a similar problem ,uploading a second kit to My Heritage has resulted in the names ofl the matches being shown as "New" again and the "New" is not disappearing after "checking".
I have been in contact with them but they do not seem to understand the problem!
How did you manage to delete the second Kit?

betadams - Sorry, I cannot find that again, but there is a Help tab to the right of your name. What is worse is all of the "Notes" I had made disappeared and I had spent hours on that. They should caution people about a second upload. Their software is just not programmed to handle more than one upload.

Top tab, "DNA", drop down "Manage DNA Kits". To the right of kit you want to delete, click on 3 vertical dots. Then "delete kit".

betadams - So, I now understand why I lost my Notes at MyHeritage. I first uploaded from Ancestry and then did my Notes. I then secondly uploaded from 23. Then, I decided to keep the 23 upload and delete the Ancestry upload. Since the notes were attached to the Ancestry upload, obviously the notes would also be deleted.

I uploaded three different kits at the same time back in May and had no problems. The kits were for different people though. I built a little tree that included two other family members as myself before I transferred all of our dna. I only used our FTDNA dna specimens for the transfer. We've tested separately on Ancestry however I thought our FTDNA dna specimens might be the best ones to use since I'd heard FTDNA and MH use the same chip.

Not only do they use the same chip, but FTDNA's lab actually does the testing for MyHeritage.

I initially uploaded my kit from Ancestry and my brothers' kit from FTDNA earlier this year.
Then last month I uploaded my kit from LivingDNA,this seemed to cause the problems for both kits.
Having deleted the LivingDNA kit all appears back to normal.

The Living DNA kit seems to have "overwritten" the other kits

I will inform them that there is a problem, since they propose charging for use of the chromosome browser later in the year people need to be warned!!!
