  • An anommoly with the ICW search

I have some strange results with the ICW search. I have a 4C1R that I share 28cM of DNA with in one segment. This same cousin shares the same segment at about the same length with two of my first cousins and a 14cM segment with my brother. However, when I click on the ICW for this 4C1R non of these matches show up. If I log in with my brother's account, this 4C1R show up on his CBrowser on C13 where we all match, but if I click on the ICW for the 4C1R no one else shows up. All of the segments are much larger than the cutoff point for a match. Why would this be? Gedmatch indicates that all of the matching segments are single segments.

Are you by chance using the search box to find this 4c1r in your match list? If you are before you run the ICW for him you need to remove his name from the search box or it will look for all the ICW between you and him that share the name you used in the search box.

Thank you Travers! That was indeed the problem. I was not aware of this and will watch out for it in future.

      Many thanks
