I am feeling pretty satisfied with the new MyOrigins results. I guess I am in the minority here, but the new MyOrigins ends up mirroring almost exactly all of the calculators I use on Gedmatch.
When I first used FTDNA several years ago, my results were 88% Orcadian (European) and 12% Middle Eastern.
When MyOrigins came out, my results switched to 99% European, with 1% unaccounted for. My Middle Eastern totally disappeared.
MyOrigins 2.0 shows 96% European, with 2% Central/South Asian and 2% Middle Eastern. This is more in line with the calculators at Gedmatch which almost all show me as 2-4% South Asian, with some Middle Eastern. This is the first time that FTDNA has shown the South Asian for me. My European break-down also makes perfect sense to me and also seems to fall in line with the Gedmatch calculators.
I have finally figured out after several years that the Indian/Middle Eastern mix I have is likely Roma. I have a grandmother who I suspect now was a Roma (gypsy) based on her appearance and where she was from, but she always said she was "Cherokee." Turns out that was not the case, or at least not the full story.
