    Hello!
    Can FTDNA administrator actually place a BigY test in my shopping cart, while the previous Y-chromosome test isn't ready yet?

    Right now I have money to buy BigY at 425$ price with my discount coupon, that you sent to me earlier.

    Actually I ordered Y-32 test lately, but my results aren't ready at this moment and thus I can't order the following BigY test directly. My personal kit number is 573477. Can I buy BigY test right now though?

    I was told on my group's forum, that FTDNA administrator have abilities to do this via request to customer support.
    I wrote here recently https://www.familytreedna.com/contact.aspx and I'd got a request numbers of 531417 and 532615, but no one replied to me in four days.

    IF YOU WOULD PLACE A BIGY ORDER RIGHT NOW, THEN I WILL BUY IT IMMEDIATELY.
    But I am not sure if I can afford BigY at full price of 575$. Also I am not sure absolutely if I can buy it after this discount period ended.

    I am honestly begging you, please FTDNA let me pay BigY test right now, while I have savings for it.
    Actually, I should have a very rare genetic ancestry and thus FTDNA database will only benefit from my testings.

      If the link for the Big Y has appeared on your personal page as something you can order, go ahead. I've done it that way before. Sometimes the Big Y results come in before the y-12 results do.

        It sounds like you are a member of a project. Have you contacted the project's administrator(s)?

        Also, since the sale ends for good at midnight on Saturday, it might be best if you phoned FTDNA and spoke with someone, referencing your Support ticket numbers. Their phone number is at the bottom of this page.

          A member of a group did as you are trying to do. Since the Y-DNA test was not going to be received by FTDNA before the end of the sale, this member asked FTDNA if they could just order it regardless. Instead, they made a note of it to allow this person to order it at the discounted price even after the sale, once their Y test had been batched.

          However, given how late it is in the week and that you haven't gotten a reply, I don't know what options you have other than to wait and see when they reply back. Don't open more tickets, you only needed to do it once. Hold on to the coupon, write it down or save it in a file since it will expire before FTDNA contacts you. They might be able to help you, but not sure if they will.

            Hello, my friends.

            I contacted a honorable customer support specialist Darren via PM and he promised to help me actually.

            He wrote, that he can't order the BigY before previous Y test will be batched.
            But FTDNA administrator can mark my 573477 account with my coupon and then after my BigY order will be available actually FTDNA will adjust its price to the sales price.
            But Darren wasn't showed up yesterday. I honestly hope, that he will be online today, before my coupon expires.

            Can someone specify, in case he won't catch up in time and my coupon expires, then will FTDNA administrator be able to use expired coupon and help me anyway?

            Due to my personal ancestry I may have a rare genetic results. Undoubtedly, if it so, then I will make my BigY result fully available for all researchers worldwide.

            FOR A FIXED PRICE OF 425$, I CAN BUY BIGY IMMEDIATELY OR AT ANY MOMENT IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR ORDER.
            But I am not sure if I can afford the BigY price over 425$ anyway. So, in this case it is definitely will happen not in the nearest 2017-2018 years for sure, unfortunately.

            I endlessly grateful for all your replies.

                Huh? do you mean FTDNA customer support?

                As a GROUP administrator of a Y Project, I cannot order Big Y for anyone to my knowledge. There are no Projects that can reflect Big Y results, although an admin with access to Big Y results can help interpret them.
                Someone please correct me if I am wrong about this.

                If you are requesting this from FTDNA customer support, that is a different matter.

                  As Sicily Project admnistrator, I ordered and paid for Big Y on Friday for two project members. That was necessary to do because we were reducing the sale price of Big Y through use of group funds that the administrators of the Sicily Project and an administrator of their haplogroup project had contributed.

                  Since the Sicily Project members don't have the ability to apply group funds to their purchase, it had to be done by me as the administrator. There was no problem at all for me to do the order on their behalf and use group funds to do it.

                    It is common for project members to have difficulty finding and using coupons. A project administrator can offer to place the order, with the best available coupon, on behalf of the project member. The administrator uses the "pay later" option; the project member can then pay for the test within his account or by phone.

                      I should add that the two Sicily Project members for whom I ordered and paid for Big Y from group funds were willing participants. Besides contributions made by myself and two other project administrators, the two men contributed their own money to the group fund for the test. I also had coupons to get more off the sale price, so they both spent their own money for less than half of the regular price ($575) of a Big Y test. Needless to say, they were very happy with the arrangement.

                      So, yes, the administrator can only place an order for a test for a project member with the member's knowledge and consent.
