  • Where can I find a price for upgrade?

    1. Where can I find a price for upgrade? For example, if I do Y-DNA37 test, how much will be upgrade to Y-DNA67?

    2. If I order the first test at your dealer http://www.dnk-center.ru/ can then I upgrade directly at your site (without the dealer service and without sending a new sample)?

What are your purposes for taking a Y-DNA test? Do you want to match other people to find common ancestors? Or are you interested in such a test strictly for proving/disproving paternity?

The testing company at the link you provided (DNA Diagnostics Center) does not show any affiliation with Family Tree DNA (FTDNA) that I could find. They seem to be directed mostly toward tests for paternity, not matching for ancestry as FTDNA is. I think it would be best to order directly from FTDNA: https://www.familytreedna.com if you wish to find out more about your ancestry, and/or to find family (but not as a paternity test).

Additionally, FTDNA will most likely be offering sale prices for the holiday season, starting soon (mid- to late November), so it would be worth your while to check back on pricing. I'm not sure what the upgrade pricing is currently for Y-DNA tests, but these upgrades are also usually at a sale price during this holiday sale time.

I believe that normally, the cost of upgrading from 37 to 67 markers ends up costing about the same as if you originally ordered the Y-67 test.

You may want to contact FTDNA directly to get answers to your questions. Use the link at the top right, for Customer Support (https://www.familytreedna.com/contact.aspx) and use the link under "Support" on that page for "Open a Request."

Yes, I am interested in genealogy and to find common ancestors.

This company (DNK-Center) provides two types of DNA tests: tests for proving/disproving paternity (to do these tests the company sends samples to DNA Diagnostics Center) and tests for genealogy/ancestry/ethnic percentages http://www.dnk-center.ru/ancestry.html (for these tests the company sends samples to Family Tree DNA).

Unfortunately, according to Russian law individuals may not send biomaterials to other country. It may do only licensed companies. That's why I have to send sample through Russian company. DNK-Center does it and provides Kit Number and Password for account at familytreedna.com. I would like to order upgrade directly from familytreedna.com. But I am anxious about such items as, for example, Family Tree DNA and Russian DNK-Center have agreement, and according one I have to order all tests and upgrades only through regional partner (DNK-Center) and so on.

Sales prices are automatic on purchase

For discount codes, they are offered weekly to current FTDNA customers.
I believe these holiday discount codes will start to be issued every monday starting Nov 14th
Keep an eye out on forum, as they are usually posted and shared by people who receive them but do not need.
These codes are only one time use, can not be used more then once.

I believe the upgrade prices only appear once you have an FTDNA Dashboard page and select Upgrade. What appears there is based upon what tests you already have purchased.

It seems the emails are sent out on Monday in my local time, but the linked offer web page returns a 404 - page not found.

So it seems the offer is valid from Monday "some part of USA" time.

Well FTDNA is located in Houston, Texas. So it uses Central Time. Find it in this time zone map.

FTDNA is located in Houston, which is in Central Time Zone. Right now it's 10:16 PM in Houston. So, the first coupons should appear in accounts in the next 10 or 12 hours.

How can I order mtDNA test?

                        Hello,
I ordered Family Finder at https://www.testdnk.com.ua in Ukraine.
How can I order a new test? Can I do it directly? Samples are in the lab.
                        My kit number is 767753

If it was a FamilytreeDNA tested kit,
Log into your FTDNA kit and click on the upgrade button. All available tests will be listed.

How to determine current retail prices of YSTR upgrades ?

Can anyone tell how to find the current non-sale prices of YSTR upgrades ? When I log in as admin and pull up a 37 marker tester in my project - it only gives me sales price. When I now use his link to YDNA Prices, I now get a Access Denied - even though I have "Full Access" and he has YDNA Opt to Sharing enabled.

I need the step by step instructions on how to determine the retail prices as we are considering send out a bulk email to our project about the substantial discounts going on and encourage upgrades from 37 to 67 markers by matching the sales price reduction. I hate to use $99 and find out that the normal price is actually $79 already. It is really maddening that FTDNA has no list of normal prices during sales for YSTR upgrades.

The Y-STR upgrade offer doesn't currently seem to be showing up when you click the Upgrade button. It might be due to the sale that is ongoing.
