A question arises because sometimes, after the kit is ordered it may happen that the person intended to make a test due some reasons refuses or is not available. Replacing person is of opposite sex. But FTDNA does not provide the possibility to make changes in the profile (change "male" to "female" and reverse). Is it possible to improve profile settings, allowing to edit this changes if necessary?

By the way, if the customer after sex-change operation wants to make Y-test or change the blue circle to pink one what is the procedure?

You can call FTDNA ans ask them to change the sex setting.

Having a sex change operation does not change the body having or not having Y-DNA, just like dying your hair does not change the natural color of your hair.

So, if I order, for example, 30 kits, registered as for "male", will it be enough to contact FTDNA, asking to change settings for "female", let us say for 20 kits?

Regarding situation with transgenders, they may have different appearance (may look like female, but carry Y-chromosome).

Dillema was considered female at birth, raised as a girl and lived her life as a woman. Her brothers and sisters never expected her not to be a woman having seen her so many times in the bathtub (her phenotype was female).

All female athletes with a Y-chromosome were expelled from competition from 1966 until 2011. At the end of the century, renowned institutions worldwide protested against the viewpoint of the International Olympic Committee, causing the mandatory gender test based on the Y chromosome to be abandoned. In case of doubt an athlete with a Hyperandrogenic Syndromes can still be tested, by a multidisciplinary medical team, during a large tournament like The Olympic Games. The IAAF and the IOC test on testosterone levels since May 2011. An athlete with hyperandrogenism not having CAIS will not be allowed to compete without a suitable medical treatment.

She did not receive any treatments and gave birth to a son.

Anyway... I had performed a successful sex change, by simply making a phone call to FTDNA. Everything was completed in a couple of seconds, after I had explained the situation.
