Ok Thanks Armando..Just out of curiosity what is the turnaround for these packs?
I waited 6 months for a single Snp before -

I have no idea. The past 12 months have been really bad but recently things are looking better so it shouldn't be too long. I think that any wait is worth the price and high number of SNPs tested. There are just too many subclades under DF27 and there is only one competitor that offers the product and those results won't show up at FTDNA.

Ad just broadcast

I got the advertisement earlier today despite the fact that I'm already Z343 and the test would add nothing. If I weren't looking closely, I might buy it thinking that one of their new SNPs might be downstream of Z343 (justifying the ad sent to me). Their "money back guarantee" wouldn't help because I'd presumably test positive for U106 which is upstream of where I've already tested.

Huh... my brother's account had them in pink this morning, but now they're not pink any more. The banner is no longer on his home page or haplotree/SNPs page. He's tested FGC11397+ and a Big Y. I wonder if they changed the notification algorithm???

You thought he was probably DF27 when you looked at his matches on Ysearch. He is WAHM and you thought that pointed to DF27. Someone else said L21 was a possibility too. His kit is 363703 and Ysearch is #6uvu6.

If you haven't already ordered an individual SNP test for DF27 then the panel test could be useful for you. The WAHM is found in a wide variety of R1b subclades including U106 and P312 subclades and this test is a time and cost effecient way of covering the bases. Even if you have ordered DF27 it could still be useful, as the test includes some subclades of DF27 and there is no guarantee that you are DF27 anyway.

Yes.I paid a lot more money for SNP tests over the last eight years. I wish it had been on the menu at that time.

I got an e-mail, and I have seen postings on the R1b haplogroup site (that I joined after the e-mail. I am assuming the only people who got an e-mail were people already tested and put in the R1b haplogroup. My dad tested. He is R-M269.

My son, who is R-U198 based on his Geno 2.0 test, has the banner ad. The new SNP panel is terrific for those who haven't done any SNP testing at all, but it would be pointless for him. Apparently FTDNA is not taking Geno 2.0 results into account when inserting the banner ad for the SNP pack.
