Hovering?
Hovering doesn't work at all for me, either in Chrome or Safari. I have to click the box to see the details. Also, having to switch from family to ancestry view, zoom out and drag the tree down to see earlier generations is a colossal pain. This would work if FTDNA would:
1. Ditch the icons.
2. Make the ancestry view the default
3. Make the display horizontal and show as many generations as possible while keeping the text readable
4. Display names, dates and locations in the boxes without having to click or hover
5. Fix the incorrect private matches
In other words, imitate Gedmatch

That's what I would have liked to have seen here.

This new tool is awful!!!
The format of the tree needs to be to horizontal. Simplify it! There needs to be as much information as possible in a single glance.
I have attached 2 screenshots - one of my tree in a full screen on FTDNA & one on Ancestry. Can you not see which one is more useful?Attached Files

Okay, I just switched from playing to trying to get some work done. I wanted to know if one of my group members had any matches with Blackburns in their trees, because the name was showing up a few times among my family members. After I searched and had my list of results, I tried to view their trees. In some cases everyone was marked private. The search feature failed to turn up any Blackburn in any tree. When I tried to expand branches manually to see if I could do what the search engine could not, I could find no way to get back to where I was before I expanded the branch. Whenever I did manage to get somewhere else, I had no idea where I was, and it was back to full magnification, so that I had to zoom out numerous times to get a decent amount of information on the screen.
What we had was much, much better than this! At least I could expand trees to show all generations at once and then use my browser's find feature to locate a surname. Now it appears to be totally impossible.

Is this FTDNA or is it Microsoft?
It seems like FTDNA can't do anything right.
Finally found a way to add a family tree but Damn, I not going to type in a 1000 names.
This new tree tool looks a hell of a lot like Ancestry.Com.
I don't much care for it there and I sure don't like it here. Bring back the easy to upload and replace gedcom.
Just like Microsoft and Windows 8 and their Metro UI. Don't listen to your customers! and see where it gets you.
