    Ongoing errors

My ftDNA woes started long before the catastrophe of the last few weeks.

I have had over two months where two out of my 111 Y-STR markers have disappeared off the site. In addition I am invisible in any group in Y-DNA settings unless the view is set to Y67 or higher. I suspect most of the group admins don't even know that I exist.

I have literally lost track of the number of times I have contacted support about this and all I have been given are promises. I am really frustrated - is someone running this organisation from their kitchen table or are we dealing with professionals who know what they are doing?

We have the same - we were notified by e-mail that my wife's FF was available - this was not the case until more than 24h later yet since then we have been receiving daily e-mails with the same message - 5 days and counting

I have just noticed the "Projects" item on forum main menu.

        The link goes here http://forums.familytreedna.com/project.php

I originally thought it was for DNA Projects but it's a Vbulletin thing isn't it?

It would be ideal for your "Current Site Issues" thread and FTDNA in general I would think. e.g. BigY batch progress

I found an example at random of someone using it http://www.thinbasic.com/community/p...?milestoneid=8

        Feature Details

        - Unlimited admin-definable issue types per project (eg: bugs, features, tasks etc.)
        - Extensive searching capabilities with sorting and grouping options
        - Ability to save search parameters to generate reports
        - Ability to subscribe to issues to track their progress and receive notification of updates
        - Issue lists can be viewed both in a sortable tabular form, or in a timeline style
        - Issue status, priority, assigned users etc. can be changed instantly using AJAX technology without visiting an edit page.
        - Issues can be voted upon - useful for gauging interest in a feature or the number of people affected by a bug
        - Issues can be both categorised and tagged to aid in searching and sorting
        - Issues can have files attached
        - A special 'patch' attachment type exists, which will display a human-readable patch diff

Shame not to use it if it's already working.

Or have I completely misunderstood what it is?

        Mike

          Hi,

I do not know if the projects section will survive the vbulletin upgrade.

            Chromosome Browser

When will the chromosome browser be back up? It's been at least five days.

We took the Chromosome Browser offline this weekend. It will be back after we make some changes.

Good. Difficult to see what has been changed. Can we have some information on what is new after the Chromosome Browser update?

                    • Can't log in

If I log in at the front page and click 'my ftdna' then it takes me to a second login. When I put the kit number and password there, it fails. I requested a new password, tried that, and it fails.

I am glad to report that the issue has been fixed - been a long time but it is fixed and that is all that matters. Thank you

                        • I'm happy for you Thinus! I'm trying to remain optimistic that my FTDNA issues will be resolved soon as well.

BTW - loved the "kitchen table" comment!

                          • I had a DNA kit received email. Each day I get the same email and it appears to be pushing out my processing time. Ive logged this with customer support. Ive now received emails for 6 days and counting....

Its not multiple kits its the same kit..the same number....

                            • Results Completed dates are wrong they are the same as the Ordered dates which should be a couple months after the Ordered date.

                              • Houston is Over Come With Problems

I just received a message from FTDNA telling me, "Advanced DNA test results have been uploaded for kit 999999." I sign into the GAP page, Member Information, and click on the kit number. His myFTDNA website comes up and I click on "Advanced Y-STR Results" and I learn that "Houston has a problem."

Just one more link that did work that no longer works.
