  • Batch 2

I do not see a Batch 2 thread yet so thought I would start one.I am excited about my upload which is on an existing FTDNA kit #.The 5 surname groups I work with show me as having a kit in process. I ordered February 1.
    I may add one more.

I have three transfers from 23andMe in this batch: My mom, her brother and her aunt. I uploaded them on the 1st and the 2nd. I'm also considering moving over one more test.

I also have three transfers from 23 and me in this batch; my ex-husband, my sister-in-law and my daughter in law. My sister is a V2 so I have to wait for her kit to come before I will get a batch number for her. Hope some are in this Wednesday's results.

I think Batch 1 was "other" uploads prior to this but I am not sure..it also may have been Beta testing..

Has anyone heard anything new on how much longer we should expect to wait? I know it could be a few more days, but I'm hoping someone has heard something a little more specific.

                    Batch 2 due date?

Just received this response back to my question about the due dates showing up for batch 2 (August 2000?).

                    "Thank you for your email.
Because you technically already have test results, our system has a hard time setting a specific date because there is no lab work to be done.
Please disregard the date on this page.
It will disappear as soon as your results are uploaded into our system.
                    Have a nice day."

No no real news yet except it's in process and there is no updated estimate.
Oh well. In reality, I will be happy if the results track on a 2 week return time from date of upload. I would not complain if I had them back sooner. :-)

                      Estimated due date

I then asked if there was any updated estimation on due dates.
                      Here is my answer:

"We expect the results to be uploaded within 1 to 2 weeks from the date of purchase. So in your case, I wouldn't expect to wait longer than 2 weeks."

So, nothing more or less than the stated time frame we saw in the beginning.
                      Perhaps another week of waiting.

But why? They have the results, they just need to process them. I asked this same question via the contact info a week ago and still no response. It is frustrating having to wait this long when all that is needed is some computer cycles. There may be a good reason but I can't think of any and nobody from FTDNA seems to want to explain why this should take so long.

i think it is computer related too, im in batch 446, results aren't due yet but they've had my kit since the first week of January (from their retrieval notification, but the post office had confirmed it a week before that). finally seeing one of the tests trickle in with just population finder available in FF, it took them 3-4 days to upload just that one tool alone- the rest of FF is not there; so i know the results are completed, they just haven't uploaded it fully for viewing yet. :/

edit: now that im looking at this batch more closely- is this related to 3rd party company transfers only?

Yes, I believe this is 23andMe transfers only. There was a batch 1 which was mostly/all V2 23andMe upgraded to V3 files. There was a bug that prevented the pure V3 files from uploading for a day or two. My transfer is a pure V3 and I tried uploading it dozens of times before they got the fix in place.

Batch 2, received 2/2/2012...getting antsy. Checking Family Finder just now, it says "This test is currently on order and matching will be possible when results come back."
