I am in Batch 447 too with expected date of March 14th. Have a feeling they will have results sooner.
Reading others results shows you a mixed bag of successes. Am hoping to find out what my real last name is. My great, great grandfather was born out of wedlock and his mother gave him the last name of a man she married later. Nobody knows who his father was and all clues from those days are long gone. The Y DNA search may finally answer where my Y chromosone originated.

This sounds like an interesting batch. I am waiting to be matched to my father's first cousin. My grandmother spread a nasty rumor that my cousin was not the daughter of her brother. This test will hopefully put an end to decades of nasty gossip.

This is my data today. It is very interesting that the prediction date which until yesterday was 2012. 03. 14. disappeared. Is it a good or bad sign?

Just wondering as I am new to this. Do certain DNA tests come back faster than others. I've been reading some of the posts and getting discouraged to see batches after the one that I am in already getting results. And then batches before mine being told their expected date was pushed from say Feb 22 to March 12. And then another in a batch after the one I'm in being told their expected date was changed to two days before mine! My expected date is March 14. I understand there was a big holiday sale, but the wait is getting frustrating. I only did the Mtdna plus, which I know a lot of posters feel is kind of a useless test, but to start with I chose it because at the time it fit the budget! Thanks in advance for any insights into this!

Yes. There are various factors though. For example the MtDNA FMS (formally called FGS) is the most complicated test and takes much longer than most tests. Also tests are done in batches so you may just get in a batch and it might be quick or you might have to wait for the next batch to be filled.

So the Mtdna plus should come back a little sooner, than the full sequencing? And if it was batched it should already be in the lab as well? Could two batches be in the lab at the same time and the later one 448 (ie I'm in 447), be completed first or it is just a matter of them randomly selecting a kit and working on it?

I'm not familiar with exact details of FTDNA batching just the general observations made over the last couple years. They don't randomly pick. It's based on when the batch is ready for testing, so I typed above you could get in quick if the batch is near full. You could also wait a while if the lab has lots of orders ahead of yours just waiting for the batch to be ready.

Y-12 results were due yesterday, but nothing has come so far. They didn't change the expected date either, so I hope I will have the rewsults within a few days.

BTW do they upload test results during the weekend, or I don't need to check it before Monday?

I was surprised Thurs. night to see my results for mtDNA plus in! They were predicted for March 14. So I guess the plus test must be quicker to do than the FMS, because they are looking at less. I hope everyone that has been waiting longer than myself will soon have their results too!

I ordered the Y-37 test in early December. I waited a month for the kit ,then another for being received by FTDNA. Results were originally expected by March 2, but then it was pushed back to March 26. Today it has been pushed back to April 16.

First time they apologized for the delay due to the high number of orders and new lab etc. Then said "This test failed to yield results for your sample. Your sample is being rerun now. Results from this round of testing are expected by this date."

In the meantime I had successful FF and mtDNA tests. What can be wrong with my Y-tests?
