I'm in the batch for SNP 617 - the R-U152 and Sub-Clades Project consensus is that it will be negative for downstreamers. For a few dollars, I will find out.
Back today ... confirmed SNP L617- as we pretty much expected. Just a 'research thing' for the Project. :-)

I received my Family Finder and Population Finder results this morning.
I don't know how useful this SNP is going to be, since it seems to be upstream from L550 and maybe even L708. In other words, every N1c1 (N-M178) might have L729.
I received 2 (actually 4 -2 to each address) yesterday telling me that they had received my kit, which was assigned to batch 441 last week. I did get an email when they actually received it, so I don't know what all the duplication yesterday was about either. I suppose 6 emails telling me my kit has arrived should get the message across!
Yesterday I received an email telling me they've received my grandfather's kit. The very same kit that is already batched in this batch. I wonder what that's about.
Nathan, hopefully you'll get yours as quickly as I did:
L729
Test Completed - 11/10/2011
Test In Progress - 11/2/2011
Batched - 11/2/2011
Ordered - 11/1/2011
I took advantage of the sale, and ordered an upgrade to 67 markers for my cousin, plus the Deep Clade test. That's not on sale, but he's predicted R1b1a2, so it's a great bang for the buck:
