Robert Keith Patterson's results for Deep Clade tests are in, he tested negative for all branches of L21.

After upgrading him to 111, he has 1 match - 10 generations removed and
1 match 6 generations removed who has the Patterson surname.

Is this all good? Or not?

Do you mean 10 generations removed or 10 genetic distances removed? Tested negative? I guess that means you potentially have a new subclade.

Sorry, I meant genetic distances. Not sure about a new sub clade? There are no further tests available I was told. Could you explain the implications of
      a new sub clade? Thanks

        Hi Yvonne,

I assume you mean Genetic Distance rather than generations

Certainly the match with the Patterson surname at GD=6 is a very good one! The GD=10 match is more distant, but definitely still a match. If he has a different surname, there could be a variety of reasons for that. Take a look at the following FAQs:

If two men share a surname, how should the genetic distance at 111 Y-chromosome STR markers be interpreted?

Why do I match men with different surnames?
