I've got a family member in 414 as well. Family Finder only. His kit went astray for a couple of weeks.

      Batch 414

Yes, me too. Message received today.

      Batch 414.

SuperDNA all slated for 07/20/2011 except SuperDNA(Y-DNA1-12 Markers) which is slated for 07/08/2011. Not sure why the first few markers are earlier - I'll be happy when I have results for all 67. The SuperDNA(FGS) - which I presume is the full sequence mtDNA - is also slated for 07/20/2011.

Fingers crossed that my Y-67 will (sooner or later) give me some sort of clue towards where in the UK (I suppose) I should be looking for my 'mystery' GrGrGF.

My kit in 414 was mailed back on May 7 and FTDNA told me to wait until May 23 to consider it "lost". They sent me confirmation late on May 24 that it had been received.

            Good luck!

              Lost in the mail

It seems that I'm not the only one who had a bit of trouble with my test kit . Mine was never received by FTDNA. Thankfully, the administrator of my surname project contacted me and after a quick phone call to FTDNA they sent me another kit which was received and is now in this batch. They seem to be pretty hastle-free and friendly and I'm anxious to get my results.

You're right about the FT DNA people being friendly.

I had the good luck to meet some of the staff at the recent National Genealogical Society convention in Charleston SC. They were happy and outgoing, with welcoming smiles, and courteous every (long and busy) day, and thoroughly committed to ensuring that every visitor to the FT DNA Stand (and there were many) was given every assistance. I was told "don't ever hesitate to contact us if you have any questions ...".

                Most impressed.

PS. I notice my Batch 414 due dates have been shortened a few days ... I hope that continues ...

Very surprising. I was shocked as well. I logged in to see if there were any new matches for my kit and was pleased to see 8 new matches. Then I saw the name on my relative's kit. That can't be right!?!? But there he was.

Now to get busy separating mom's side from dad's side....

I sent my grandmother's FF test in May 9th and it sat a the post office there for awhile I think because of insufficient postage due to the raising of postage. I got an email that the kit was received May 23 and the results posted today 13 days later!!! Thanks FTDNA for fixing the postage on our kits and especially for the quick results

Petersj..this is a group you should consider joining.
With our premier suite of DNA tests and the world’s most comprehensive matching database...your DNA has met its match!

A 12 marker sequence does not tell you much. It is a start though.

It is very general. At the first 12 markers I have a couple matches who are Native Siberian. And so many in Europe.
                            I was once predicted R1b1

                            I now have a 67 number sequence.
I have also tested for snp markers to confirm my predicted Genetic Group
which has been refined to R1b1a2a1a1b4f.

                            aaaaaaaaaaaa

I'm waiting on a second cousin's results in this batch. Good luck to you all.

                              mtDNA Full Sequence Batch 414

                              Just as a record ...

My FTDNA mtDNA Full Sequence arrived (unannounced) this morning a few days ahead of the promised date.

Although I have no idea (yet) what all the numbers mean (the test proved I'm human, not smart), the results are not a total surprise.

                              Haplogroup: U3b

8 matches at Low Resolution (HVR1)
1 match at High Resolution (HVR1+HVR2)
No matches at FGS. (I guess I still have a chance as more get tested, ???)

I suppose this is an OK result.

As my maternal ancestors that I have a paper trail for go to c1811 in the South of Germany, I can see how the U3b Haplogroup occurs.

I am a little surprised that there are as many 'Russian' names 'lov' and 'ovski' as 'Germanic' in the list of matches.

Not sure 'where to' from here ... I've got some reading up to do.

Now, where are the Y-67 et al results ... still a few days out I suppose.

                              CC
