darroll, for your sake, I hope you get your results on time. But it's difficult not to feel disgruntled when your results were "expected" in March, and it's May and they're still not in.

In regards to many of these FGS delays we are as frustrated as you are. We are certain that with the new enhancements made in the software that we use for the sequencing analysis, we will start delivering results faster. However, we will never compromise quality for speed. We believe that our latest actions will give speedier delivery and 100% reliable results at the same time, we apologize for the long delays that some of you have experienced. As always you can contact us directly for more information regarding your specific test if it has been delayed.

My Mom's FF results were supposed to be in on June 2 and they're not in yet. She's convinced that FTDNA has stolen her money and doesn't intend to test her DNA. My problem is how do you reason with an 85-year-old, who thinks everyone is out to get her? I've tried to explain to her that these long delays are quite usual according to what I read on the bulletin boards, and that FTDNA is a reputable company, but I'm not getting anywhere!

"The other more significant delaying factor has been the Family Finder machine itself. The machine we use for this test has gone down for a second time in as many months. The first time it was down it took two weeks for the repair crew to come from out of town to fix the issue. This time we have been waiting a week. We hope to be up and running again by the middle of next week, but we can't predict exactly when we will be back up.We apologize for these problems."
FTDNA should be upfront and communicate this explanation to everyone affected.Last edited by gtc; 20 June 2010, 05:06 PM.
