Batch 349 - Family Finder

I'm in the Family Finder beta group and am assigned to Batch 349. My predicted date was originally 4/7/10, but later revised to 4/12/10. I did have to send them two additional swab vials.

My Family Finder results were just posted, about 3 weeks early. It lists four predicted relatives, which is surprising considering the data base can't be very large at this point. I'm still trying to understand what it all means.

That's good news for you and your newly found relatives.
I wasn't sent the family finder offer and I won't email ftdna to join it.
I will point out there are many people, in several batches, who are still waiting, after seven months, for their FGS results. It's shocking that a Family Finder batch was done in one week (thread says one week ago).

^ Family Finder is using the Affy Chip technology. Two very different kettles of fish to stew there.

^ It's bad customer service. It should be first come, first served. It's like being a customer waiting on a long line for a long time and then seeing someone who just waltzed in, getting served immediately while others are still waiting. Next in line should be taken care of first, not the last person first. That is my opinion.

Perhaps FTDNA's motto should be: "DNA testing while you wait ... and wait ... and wait ..."

Has anyone out there received Y-DNA results from this batch yet? My first 12 markers are due on the 9th of April.

As of late, the initial 12 markers are "early".

Don't hold me to it, but that has been the general rule after they announced that they would be.

I just got my first twelve Y-DNA markers today, nine days earlier than expected. I'm happy.

I'm in the Family Finder Beta Group and did not have to submit additional swab vials. Placed order on 2/18 and I am still waiting. Hopefully it won't go beyond the 4/12 date.

Family Finder target date still unchanged at 4/12 but it's 4/14 and I'm still waiting. Am I alone?

No, you are not alone. My own plus several others that I'm aware of are in the same boat.

We just need to have a little hopeful patience...

Waiting for batch 349

I waiting for the family finder test of my mother (Adopted). I send a e-mail to some staff at familytree DNA and that is the respond they send me back. I'm aware that is the beta phase for this test and we pay less because of that so i dot mind waiting a little more.

Dear XXxxxXX, Thank you for your email. The Family Finder tests are running a couple weeks behind since the lab has been tweaking the lab process for these tests as results of the Beta testing to come up with the best possible process. We should see these results by the end of this month provided everything looks good in quality control.
