  • Batch 337

I have mtDNA HVR1, HVR2, and FGS "expected" on the 27th of January. Anyone else in batch 337?

I'm waiting on my Deep Clade-R due in on January 18th.

My WTY for L48+ is in this batch due 1-13 but I was told by other members that this would take six or more months so I'm not really expecting anything until June.

When you say WTY do you mean the Walk Through the Y project, where you pay $750 for the job?

If so, it may well take many months.

Yep, that's the one. I just hope that they find a new downstream SNP. It would really stink to have spent all of that money fer nuthin'.

I hope FTDNA doesn't put your sample in storage by mistake and forget about it, like they did with another WTY customer as reported on another forum

I have HVR1, HVR2, and FGS results pending. The FGS notes column now reads, "mtDNA full sequence tests are processing at full speed. The first round of testing is expected to be complete by this date," with a new expected date of 2/5. My HVR1 and HVR2 expected dates have remained at 1/27. Should I expect the HVRs on 1/27, or does the note in the FGS column apply to all?

              Thank you.

Usually the HVR results arrive before the FGS. My results were 3 weeks early, so I'm guessing you might see them soon. But there is always the possibility they might have to retest which could delay the results.

                      results

My HVR2 results came in last week for batch 339. Waiting for FGS anyday now. Expected date was Feb 1, 2010, but HVR2 came in very early.

Does FTDNA ever respond to emails? I have sent two in the last two weeks, regarding an issue, without any response. Just curious.

                          no, they don't

I have had 4 dates for Batch 330, and they have not deigned to answer my questions.

This will be last test for quite awhile

It would be nice if they communicated better - but I'd rather the results be slow and correct rather than rushed and incorrect. They are making progress - it looks like they have completed over 400 FGS results since Jan 5.

You have to figure that good customer service and responding to emails would probably raise the costs of the tests. I'm in favor of lower costs and getting more people tested. Ultimately the results are only really useful if a lot more people get tested. So I'm checking every day and continue to patienting wait impatiently.

From my experience, the answer is "sometimes".

Darren Marin of FTDNA is fairly active on this forum, so perhaps he will respond to you.
