I just checked it. It still says "Testing in progress."

Actually I figured this out last night, but it was late and I had to go to bed before I could post an explanation here. Here is what probably happened.

I was listed in the projects as R1 because I had a 10/12 near-hit with a man whose haplogroup prediction was R1. Mr. Greenspan had told me that in his very kind email response back when I first wrote Charles Kerchner about my confusion over the whole R1 thing. That near-match made R1 the conservative prediction that FTDNA's project algorithm reported.

That R1 guy then ordered a Deep SNP test. His results have come back: he's R1b1.

Voila, I'm now listed as R1b1, too.

Not as thrilling for me as having partial SNP results myself, but it did make my late evening interesting and exciting.

Man, this forum has been slow lately.

Where are M.O'Connor, Mike Maddi, Francesco, Lost-Sheep, Rick, and some of the other regulars?

They don't seem to be posting much.

It's kind of discouraging when things get boring.

I thought that when O'Connor's SNP results came in he would start posting regularly again.

      Sigh . . .

Have you been reading the "Phoenician DNA?" thread where I've done some posting the last few days?

          No, sorry.

I see you have been busy there. Sorry I did not see that. The last thing I posted on that thread apparently went unnoticed, so I quit reading it.

              First upgrade in!

I upgraded from 12 to 67 markers. It looks like they do it in bits from 12 to 25 to 37 to 67. I just got an e-mail that my 12 to 25 marker results are in! I have one 25 marker match with a guy with a different surname though Does anyone know how I get my new results to upload to my surname/geographical projects? I started this whole thing through the Genographic Project, do they care about the additional markers? Thanks.

Your new markers will automatically be made available to your project administrators, so there's nothing you need to do. If your projects have websites hosted by FTDNA, then your new markers will be automatically displayed in the results lists on those websites. If any of your projects have non-FTDNA websites, the project administrators will need to manually update them (but in those cases, they have to manually update everyone).

Genographic Project is only interested in your first 12 markers and your initial haplogroup assignment, so there's no way to update them.

Don't discount the different-surname match, especially since he's your only 25/25 match. I would contact him and compare notes. Of course you'll see if you continue to match him when your 37 marker results are done (has he tested to 37 markers also?). Remember that surnames have not always existed and in some places, they started being used only a few hundred years ago.

I'm sorry Stevo, you're perfectly right. Unfortunately, at now, I'm preparing my last university exam due on the 7th of July. Hope things will be more interesting then

Good luck with your exam, Francesco!

You are absolutely correct to focus your attention on it.

Things will be a lot more interesting around here when you are able to come back and post often.

Good luck writing your exams, Francesco!

Still patiently awaiting my deep clade SNP R1b1'c' re-run from May...

My mtDNA (HVR - 2 refine) was due yesterday....sigh.....maybe I should take a summer break from FTDNA until they sort out their lab problems.

Stevo you're lucky you got your 'c' for free! I had to pay for mine! wahh!

Yeah, but my "c" is only a prediction based on the SNP results of my nearest matches.

I too have already paid to have my R1b1c turn from the red of a prediction to the green of a confirmed result. I'm just waiting for that color transformation to take place.

                          Thank you very much, Stevo.

I really hope in the meantime some new & interesting issues come out (or

even better, the guys at FTDNA make certain SNP's available )

Good luck to you, too, for your deep clade results.

I'm curious to see what is going on with those two troublesome markers.
