so in order for ratings to be high the games are close and maybe the rays win one or two
baseball had a strike in 94 they needed people in the park . so all of a sudden in 1995 3-4 guys beat the single season home run record by 15. 75 homers instead of 61. now we know that baseball knew steriods were being used and didn't care anything to get people in park . anyone with a brain knew they doctored the ball. this means all past records are null and void and that bobby bonds should be thrown out of baseball if shoeless joe is

also the yankees start the season with a 150 million egde on other teams and suprise they win alot. they dont pay for upkeep on yankee stadium the city does, they have the yes network and 100 mill contract for tv . the boston red sox are next with 50 million

there are 32 teams i think on opening day 22 have no chance 17 of them are triple aaa ballclubs [minor leagues]
      ADD TO THIS
the fact players cant be fired and lose pay guarenteed contracts.
just like wrestling they have the characters and that fills seats in kansas city tampa and toronto

now the nba and nhl who cares anymore no one sees the playoffs

up until this year only one sport pro in america can players be fired for bad play Football which is why its number one

soccer, hockey, bball [basket] golf tennis are boring playing to a tie after 1.5 hrs is like kissing your sister
maybe if soccer had 3 points for bum shots 2 for head shots and four if you twirl before the bum shot doing a double flip . it might be interesting

      rugby is kool

i guess since we dont help people here and post funny characters. so whats the difference . people go to the parks like its real at least wrestling doesn't pretend its real

maybe dna test will show which species of primate go to and play the games
Damn, you must of been picked last for every sport in school.

Can we please apply email etiquette to these boards -- don't quote a 10-page paper and add a one-liner at the bottom. Makes the thread annoying to scroll through! Thanks!

If one has a problem with testing, an email or a phone call to FTDNA would probably accomplish a whole lot more than posting in the Batch Calendar Forum.

But these threads are good places to wile away the time waiting for results.

And to post smileys and what not.

                  Can it beat Argentina?

(I'm assuming Argentina will beat Mexico and advance to the next game.)

You can check out the y-haplogroup map of Europe on page 2 here to get an idea of the probable genetic make-up of the German players.

I guess one would look at the map of Spain to get an idea of the make-up of the Argentine players.

Probably a preponderance of R1b on both sides.

You got the obligatory genetic/dna content in the middle of a sports post. I like it!

                      Thank you very much!

Argentina did beat Mexico, but just barely.

So it will be Germany vs. Argentina in the next round.

I'm pulling for Germany, but I won't try to predict the outcome. Both teams are great; it could go either way.

They should have all the players' dna tested.

Anyone who has a problem with a test and doesn't call FTDNA or send an email is having the wrong sort of test run. He or she should be having his or her head examined.

                            DEEP SNP-R1b PROGRESS???

I was just checking two of the projects in which I am involved, the Steffen Project (my primary surname project) and the R1b Project. Both of them used to have me listed as R1, even though FTDNA had predicted R1b1 for me on my personal page. R1 was explained to me as the most conservative prediction, which is what FTDNA sends to project admins and their tables.

Anyway, I was looking at those two projects just a few minutes ago and discovered that I am now listed as R1b1, but still in the bright red of a prediction.

Does that mean my Deep SNP-R1b, in this here batch right here, has progressed at least to the point that FTDNA feels confident in sending a report of R1b1 to my projects?

Does it mean I have already been found positive for M343 and P25 (the SNPs for R1b and R1b1, respectively)?

                            COOL!!!

                            I'm jazzed about this.

I said this in another thread already, but, like the old song says, little things mean a lot.

You're implying that the Batch Calendar forum is intended to be an online helpdesk for FTDNA. Well the only person on the FTDNA staff who ever posts in this forum is Max, and even then it's usually with general information rather than answers to specific questions. So obviously FTDNA isn't using the forum that way. The forum also isn't listed on the "contact us" page either -- their email addresses and phone numbers are.

Seems to me that you're the only one complaining about how the Batch Calendar forum is being used.

Check for partial results on Haplogroup page...

Have you checked your Haplogroup page to see if it lists any SNP test results? Apparently they list partial results there, though you won't get an email about them until your test is complete and all the results are in.
