    I made it in time!

I got my R1b-SNP order into FTDNA in time!

    I'm in Batch 155!

    Whoopee!!!

I'm excited, but right now I'm looking forward to markers 26-37 that are due from Batch 147 on June 2 (ballpark).

But, yes, I will post in this thread.

It's my duty as an R1b Jedi.

    (It aggravates the Emperor.)

Darn, I was hoping to start this thread, but got stuck at work! And I'm still at work actually... but back in front of a computer now.

Hmm, now why is my 37-59 (actually 67, they need to fix that) target date two days before my 26-37 target date?! Oh well, I'll just look forward to getting the results in mid-late July -- hopefully!

          Hi folks,
I'm brand new to all of this and just noticed I'm in 155 as well.

            Welcome, Piobaireachd!

            First DNA test?

            What type have you ordered?

                Thank you Stevo

Yes, this is my first. I've ordered the Y-DNA59+mtDNAPlus test.

As an adoptee and having no clue of my background, this is all very exciting for me.

                Cheers,
                Todd

Wow! You're starting out big. You'll actually be getting 67 y-markers for the price of 59.

I've only done the Y-37 test, and am waiting on the last 12 markers on that one.

My Deep SNP-R1b is in this batch, though.

I haven't done any mtDNA yet. That's going to have to wait awhile.

It's all pretty new and exciting to me, too.

                  Glad you're with us!

Hey, Paul! We're in the same batch!

                    All right!

Have any of the other Sheetz/Sheets/Sheats men been tested?

                      You are going all out!

                      Welcome, fellow R1b Jedi!

                      67 markers!

If I had any solid matches with anyone with my surname or something reasonably close, I would probably be going for more markers, too.

Since I don't, I'm going the deep history route with SNP-R1b.

When I volunteered for co-admin, there was one tested. Another had his results, but wasn't in the group, so I invited him to join, and he did. Then myself and another member joined so that makes 4 of us, and one is still waiting for results. I haven't put in a serious effort to recruit yet, but I will over the next month or so. So far we have 3 different haplogroups, so nobody is even closely related.

I have the link to the Sheets project in my signature (click on "Sheets") if you want to check it out.

I just confirmed that my grandfather's Genographic Project kit made it into this batch as well So I definitely have two tests in this batch: Y25-67 and Y12.

                              Wow!

Nice web site! (We need a thumbs-up smiley.)

I guess there are three different Sheets lines thus far. You need some of these numerous Pennsylvania and Virginia Sheetzes to submit tests.

I actually tested first under the auspices of the Steffen Project, since I suspect (but cannot confirm) that my Y-ancestor may have been a man named Wilhelm Christian Stephan, born March 1754 somewhere in Germany. He changed his name later to William Stevens (also Stephens). His family settled first in Lancaster, PA, and then went out to the Northern Panhandle of what is now West Virginia.

Anyway, I was hoping someone with a paper trail to him would be a y-match for me, and I am still hoping one shows up. Thus far we only have six guys in the Steffen project. I'm hoping many more will show up.

This whole connection is only based on circumstantial paper trail evidence and may turn out to be a bust. William died in January of 1838. My confirmed ggg-grandfather (from the same area) had a son two months later and named him William Christian Stevens. Coincidence? Maybe.

I need to do some recruiting, too.
