        Addicted .....

        Alumni 147

<Snicker> Can an individual be addicted to giving up dna and money to see what batch they are in next? LOLLLLLLLLL

On a serious note, I just ordered the refined mtdna test (only one left for me is the mega). With the testing my brother and I have done, we should be good to go!

After my Batch !47 and Batch 153 results, I'll have it all except for the mega as well.

The good thing is you don't have to do it again.

Or you start paying to have your relatives tested!

I'm looking ahead to some of that.

I should start a new thread and ask folks here how many of their lines they know about (dna-wise, I mean).

So far I know about two R1b lines, two and possibly three I1a lines, and the fresh discovery that my paternal grandmother's male line was R1a (still have to confirm the connection there).

I don't know anything about the mtDNA in any of my lines yet.

If He were a Grand Uncle, you'd think He would help you out?..

Oh..well...This is a harmless sport, and a history lesson.

You must be young to have a living gg-uncle.

Either that or he is Methuselah.

I may soon track down some would-be relatives and try to persuade them to test.

My relatives are probably even tighter than your gg-uncle.

My brothers test came in (37 markers so far).. R1b1. He will get the rest of the markers on the 21st. So much information I haven't a clue where to start!!

                          That does seem odd

They must have thrown away the mould

One of our R1b1 guys only has three 12-marker matches, but that was the fewest I had heard of until now (but I haven't been around this dna testing stuff very long).

I only had eight, which, I am told, is a small number for an R1b1.

Over 70% of the entries in the YSEARCH database are R1bs.

I guess when your brother gets a match, you'll all know it's the real deal.

I don't have any matches either, but my haplogroup is I1b (Dinar), which is almost entirely Slavic.

I am surprised that an R1b1 would have no matches. Have you uploaded the data into Ysearch, and looked for partial matches? For example, in Ysearch, my closest matches are 31/37. My uncle's closest matches are 27/37, but he is in haplogroup G2.
