      That sounds great.

I hope to be catching some crabs and fish in the Chesapeake Bay and the Potomac River.

We may also take a trip up to Niagara Falls, Ontario (I like the Canadian side of Niagara Falls best). It's only a relatively short day's drive from where we live.

Great. I've been there once, but on the United States' side... it was impressive stuff.

The Canadian side is even better. The Canadian Horsehoe Falls is bigger, and the town features a lot of attractions. The arboretum is nearby if, like me, you like trees and gardens.

Every night during the summer at 10:00pm there is a fantastic fireworks show over the falls, which, of course, can also be viewed from the American side.

I went there with my family on new year's time in 1997. I was 14.
We were in NY and Buffalo is not far. I don't remember much of that trip except for being in the elevator with Courtney Love and having lunch in a sort of pseudo-futuristic restaurant with the Star Wars' theme echoing all over the place...

Can we re-name this thread? I think "Discovery Travel & Adventure" would be just fine

Courtney Love? Was that before or after Kurt Kobain (excuse the spelling if it's wrong) killed himself?

You should come back sometime and visit the Canadian side. Then head up to the Georgian Bay on Lake Huron and take the cruise.

When I took the Georgian Bay cruise I spent most of my time standing at the bow drinking Canadian beer, admiring the scenic beauty, and letting the wind blow through my hair. A good time. (It's a wonder I didn't fall overboard.)

                Thanks for the advice, Stevo.

I don't think I'll go back to North America soon, anyway. Or maybe yes...my mother's aunt lives in Vancouver but I know it's pretty far from Niagara.

Just a few thousand miles or so..

I lived in Toronto's east end for quite some time. I've been to Niagra Falls once or twice.

I understand Americans and Europeans have different definitions for the word "far"

I use to live not too far south of Vancouver, B.C., in Portland, Oregon. That's beautiful country up there, but it rains way too much for my taste.

They actually advertise umbrellas on tv in Portland!

We get as much rain here in Virginia in terms of totals, but in the Pacific Northwest it comes in month-long, dismal, gray drizzles. Here in Virginia we generally get our rain in big thunderstorms and one or two-day soaking deluges.

In Portland the sun is regarded as a UFO.

The Batch 150 thread was at the bottom of the first page of threads when I just looked for it in the Batch Calendar forum:

If you post to it, it'll be moved up

                              Good luck!

I hope you get those results today or tomorrow.

                              It is exciting, isn't it?

I have a Deep SNP-R1b in Batch 155, but July 17 seems a long way off.
