  • Batch 149 Created

FTDNA's Web page for my uncle (whose 37-marker yDNA test I am paying for) shows that his batch 149 was created on 4/19. No other dates posted yet.

    C'mon, 149!

Since my samples are in Batch 147, it feels good to know there are already two batches behind it.

Where's the news about #148, though?

        Too much, probably.

Let's see . . . I already have 110 posts on this forum, I only joined it this month, and I don't even have my Y-DNA results yet!

And I'm already thinking ahead to getting my mtDNA done . . .
and maybe a deep SNP (if necessary) . . .

I volunteered to be co-admin for my surname project. Through the special tools I was given, I found out that the estimated completion date for my results (59 marker--not an upgrade) are June 14th. So... I don't know if that's any indication for the whole of batch 149, but it's probably close.

I'm in for the 37-marker test. Hopefully that will complete before they're done with the 59er.

Strange, now I have different estimated dates for each set of markers:

                        1-12 June 2
                        38-59 June 14
                        13-37 June 16

This is actually encouraging. FTDNA processes the Y-DNA 59 test in three separate "sub-batches". It appears they intend to report the results as they are completed.

The Y-DNA tests have always been done in panels, usually with each panel being reported as they were completed.

It's interesting that 38-59 is expected two days before 13-37. Wonder why that is?

I wondered the same thing. Apparently, they are not done in marker order.
