  • Man, I have a lot of posts now: 1445.

    It's embarrassing (kind of).

    I'm sure everyone thinks I'm a blabbermouth.

You don't all have to agree with that sentiment, by the way; it was largely rhetorical.

Got most of my Deep SNP-R1b results from Batch 155. I already posted them in that thread. I'm a confirmed R1b1c now. Still waiting for M37 and P66.

That's no problem. My results weren't due until July 17th, so I was very pleasantly surprised to get them.

    • Good night, folks!

I kind of miss the good ol' days of Batch 147, when there was a bunch of us waiting for results and chatting away in this thread like crazy.

Now it seems I am the only who posts here much.

Don't get me wrong; I am glad that I have so much genetic information now. I just miss some of the characters who made this thread so interesting.

      Where have they all gone?

      • They're all busy trying to analyze their results?

By the way, I sent Max an email yesterday asking if R1b and some of the other "surname" forums could be made public. Haven't heard back yet.

            • Now that I'm a co-administrator of a project with over 60 members, I can see, with only a few mouse clicks, that no one in the project has received any results since June 27.

We received a couple of 37 to 67 upgrades, yesterday.

It would be nice to have a link to the R1b Forum from the regular FTDNA Forum.

If the R1b Forum goes public, will we have to stop swearing and burping over there?

Of course, as long as they smell like beer.

I think you and I have the same R1b1c SNPs thus far.

                      We're still waiting for M37 and P66.

I hope your life slows down some soon so that you can get back to livening this place up like you did before.

                      • 147 deep SNP's still missing

Stevo, I posted about 3 weeks ago that I was still waiting for my brother's deep SNP's to be returned and then my computer crashed. I've finally got most of the bits and bites back together again and I'm finally responding. I did send a note to Eileen Krause. She sent back a quick note essentially saying that this stuff takes a lot of time and to be patient.
My brother's haplogroup was originally listed as "G". I upgraded to the next batch of tests and the first results were "inconclusive". So they were running certain tests again.
This is all it says at the webpage:

                        DeepSNP-G

                        06/09/2006

                        147

Your test is now in process at the lab and results are expected to arrive by June 9th.

                        Haplogroup Tests

                        G M201+ M285- M286- M342- P16- P18- P20-

Am I still missing data? His page says it's still pending.... It was batch 147.

M201+ That means your brother is confirmed as a member of the G Family (he's a G-Man ).

                          M285- He's NOT G1.

                          M286- He's NOT G2b.

M342- Another confirmation that he is NOT G1.

P16- Your brother is NOT G2a.

                          P18- He's NOT G2a1 either.

                          P20- He's NOT G1a.

It seems you are still awaiting results for M287 and M377. If he is positive for M287, then he's G3. If he is positive for M377, then he is G5.

If it turns out he is negative for those two SNPs, then my guess is he will be classified as G*, which means he could be G4 or perhaps some subclade with an as yet undiscovered SNP.

Hope that helps and that I have not made any errors.

He is still missing P15 which is G2.

                              Oops!

                              You're right!

I knew it was too early in the morning when I posted that. That is why I ended it with the hope that I had not made any errors (a hope that you have dashed!).

                              Thanks for catching it!

                              G2!

That is probably where he'll come up positive, too: one of Igmayka's Alans or Sarmatians, no doubt.

Yes, my uncle is also awaiting his P15 result, to find out whether he is G2 or simply G*.

By the way, if anyone knows any North Ossetians, I would probably be willing to pay to have a few DNA-tested.
