No results today. I suppose nothing will be happening till Monday.
    Oh, man! I'm sorry, Mike.

That's the last time I'll try my hand at prognosticating.

I really did think you would get your results last night.

    • There was some mention of this week.

I suppose I should get a new Target date

This second target date expired 8 days ago.

I guess I shouldn't set too much store by that target date of July 17th that I have for my Deep SNP-R1b.

Will I be carving jack-o-lanterns and raking leaves before I see those results?

          Sigh . . .

              Oh, yeah!

              This summer, I still hope.

              • Ahhh . . . good ol' Batch 147.

Mother of my first 37 markers!

Perhaps I should say father, since today is Father's Day, and I did get only y-dna results after all.

I have gotten all I am going to get out of Lab Batch 147, but there are others still awaiting apparently more time-consuming test results.

So, let's let the Batch 147 thread roll on, at least to 1,000 posts.

                Will it make it?

                Does anyone care?

                (Probably not.)

Yes, you do have to be right eventually, and today would be a good day for your results to come in.

I sent an email off asking if FTDNA is going to test for R1b1c9 anytime soon. Maybe I will get a reply today.

I might not belong to that group, but I am curious about it anyway.

                      • That student of mine who submitted a kit to the Genographic Project came to school today (he played hooky on Friday to see Nacho Libre).

He forgot to bring in his markers, but he did say his y-haplogroup prediction is R1b.

He is supposed to bring his markers in tomorrow so I can help him upload them to YSEARCH.

I want to see his markers. His surname is one of those Irish Ui Neill names.

Is there an O'Connor Project that you are in?

                            How is that going?

                            Any matches?

Are you in the R1b Project?

                            • Man, this forum has been moving slowly the last couple of days.

If it wasn't for the spammers, there wouldn't be much activity at all!

                              Where is everyone?

Discouraged by delays? (I don't blame you.)

Can someone explain to me the benefit of upgrading from 37 to 67 markers?

Why do it unless you already have a close match at 37 that you are trying to confirm or exclude?

I have a hard enough time remembering my marker values and which markers are fast mutators and which are slow as it is.

That's a good question. The upgrade's practical value is quite limited until a significant fraction of FTDNA customers have bought it. But someone has to be the first.

Besides, those of us in unusual haplogroups (I1b-Dinar, G2) can be the first in our haplogroup to get the upgrade, and thereby make history.
