I only know they had to re-run it all because they had some problems.

P66 is a very misterious SNP. There's no literature nor speculations either about it and until now it was found only in two Italian samples.
      I wasn't aware of that.

I wonder what value it has if it can't be associated with a group or a geographic region.

That post that I deleted was the product of a brain fart.

It was intended for another thread.

Somehow I got to looking at this one before I posted the response to the other thread, so I posted it here by mistake.

It didn't make sense here, so I had to delete it.

              No way!

You've got to post more! I don't want to be the only one besides Jim Denning with over a thousand posts!

              • This sounds like a race! I live in Nevada, maybe I can place a bet.

I've been wondering what to do with my DH's testing. I only did the 12 markers at FDNA, but I did oodles at DNA-FP. I wanted to put all/most of his results in the same place, but at DNA-FP, if you add anything, you get this glaring WARNING USER HAS CONTAMINATED RESULTS sort of thing. Not really that strong, but it still sounds ominous. And ysearch doesn't have boxes for all the markers. What to do....

DNA Fingerprint, another dna testing company. I think they're based in Berlin, Germany.

                    • Will this post push the Batch 147 thread to 4,000 views?

You know, I liked geneaology before, although it frustrated me ferociously at times. I like it even more now that I have discovered FTDNA and dna testing.

I'm learning things I could only guess at before.

And it's loads of fun, too!

Note: Nope. This post didn't push Batch 147 to 4,000 views. Someone else will have that honor, I guess.

But I guess someone else was the 4000th view -- otherwise it would have still said 3999 when I looked at the index.

                        • [QUOTE=DMac]They do. After the one time set up fee ($85) and extraction ($49), the first SNP is $36. Additional SNP's, even months or years down the road are $40 each.

I got the above info, which is under 'Custom Select SNPs', off their web site.

Thanx DMac! I'll have to check that out for sure.....

Oh ....not good news... direct from Ethnoancestry:

" Note the S series markers S21, S25, S26, S28, S29 are not available for individual purchase, only in R1b packages."

I thought I remembered something like that, too.

The long and short of it is that if you want the fancy new S series of SNPs from EA, you're going to pay around $300.

                              I'll stick with FTDNA.

I like my personal page and a lot of the other features here, and I think FTDNA will be coming out with additional R1b-SNPs soon.
