  • I have a 33/37 non-surname match that doesn't show as a 25 match. I wonder if that's common?

I don't know. That does seem strange, but I guess it depends on which markers match up.

I don't think my 24/25s will hold up.

I'm anxious to see how it goes, though.

Maybe they don't have 25 ticked off in their Y-Search preferences.
Maybe they are just concerned with 37 marker matches ?

Right now I still have 12-marker matches set in my preferences, just out of curiosity. I will soon change that to 37-marker matches only, once I get the rest of my markers.

I have my settings set to show me all matches. Would their settings effect what I see?

On another note, I only have like 21 12-marker matches. You hear of some people having hundreds. I guess I1a ain't that popular.

                21 of 12/12 matches? Wow! I don't think they're so few: although I'm R1b I've got only 3 matches at 12!

                • These are non-surname matches, you knew that right? There was a thread on here earlier somewhere mentioning how many people had hundreds of exact matches at 12-markers. All I can say is, you must be pretty rare! or ?

I only have eight 12-marker matches, none of them with my surname.

I think those folks nearest the most common modals have the greatest number of matches.

Evidently all three of us are weirdos.

                      Yes, Paul, I knew it.
I'm Italian so it would be hard for me to have surname matches at 12 with two Germans and a Manx!

Would either of those Germans have the surname Kaiser?

That could be considered a cognate of your surname, couldn't it?

Just a shot in the dark.

Yeah somehow you could even end up discovering you and Gwen Stefani are relatives

Think she would be generous with her poorer relatives?
