    Judy and Jim -

Thanks for your compliments. I really appreciate them.

My wife's grandmother Rachel was Jewish, but that was her dad's mother. Her husband (my wife's grandfather) was imprisoned by Stalin. Stalin, as you may know, destroyed many records of genealogical value, which makes the paper trail tough for persons of Russian extraction like my wife.

My father-in-law, who was in the Red Army in World War II, passed away in 1995. He has a brother who is still living in Russia. I don't know if we can get test samples from him, but we can try. It would be interesting to have both the Y and mtDNA results from him.

If hair samples could be used. A lock in a letter would save a lot of time and questions.

      PS
I have trouble following the Brother's Sister of her Unclle's left cousin.

Jim Denning..1999?...maybe they ironed things out by now?..maybe not?

Relative Genetics has some interesting comparing and search features.

Very true, but I don't have any old locks of ancestral hair to test . . . without doing some grave robbing, that is.

If all the Y-traceable cousins line up on the left and all the mt-traceable cousins on the right . . .

        Oh, heck!

        C'mon, 147!

In case you haven't noticed (and I'm sure you have by now), it looks as if Batch 147 is at the sequencing facility - 04/21/2006. A couple, three more weeks to go I would imagine. I've been having fun reading the forum here. These are the same types of conversations people have standing in line for the newest greatest roller coaster

                            aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

My results from 147 are predicted for approx. 3rd week in May.

I also understand that Humans are performing the experiments.

Thanks for that good news! I really had not looked again until seeing your post just now. I've been busy today with a dental appointment (I need a root canal, sadly).

I hope we only have two or three weeks more to wait.

                              Hooray for Batch 147!!!

Humans are performing the experiments? That's not encouraging.

My personal page does not yet show a predicted date for the results, although it does show that Batch 147 went to the sequencing facility today. This is my first test, and it's a Y-DNA 37. Does that make a difference?
