OK, this is the week! I know it! The 12 marker results we've been waiting for, will finally arrive! Yes! I think. Maybe... It could happen...

and I'm debating getting my dad's mtDNA done. I really haven't seen much value in it, but curiosity has outvoted me.

5 more days till my SNP target Date! (June 9)

My 38-66 is secondary to my SNP. Hopefully both will arrive on time.

    C'mon 147..

I'm still waiting for batches 143 (mtDNA re-runs) and 146 (37-to-66 upgrade). Frankly, I suspect that at this point all other work is secondary to getting the much-ballyhooed 37-to-66 upgrade out the door. For example, Ysearch still needs to permit the entering of all 66 markers.

Okay, where are all you old Batch 147 enthusiasts?

    Oh, fickle humanity!

How quickly thou forgetest the womb that bore thee and the breasts that didst nurse thee!

I like this forum and this thread

I would like to say that I like this forum - although it moves too damn slowly sometimes - and especially this thread, which has been a lot of fun for me and really relieved the tedium of waiting for test results.

This is mostly a friendly place, something that is rare among internet fora.

I wish we could post polls here and I also wish we could use avatars, though.

I agree. I am well pleased with FTDNA.

Now I'm hoping my Deep SNP-R1b (due July 17) will be on time, as well.

The good news is that when you and I see that match to someone of our surname, we'll be pretty sure we've found a relative.
I had a feeling those near-hits at 25 markers would fizzle out, and they did.

You are right, though. When we do finally get a surname match, it will be the real deal.

We just have to recruit some more folks for testing.

Thus far, FTDNA is batting a thousand for me, and I appreciate it.

I have a 34/37 with a man named Webb (not my surname), and that is the closest.

Those 24/25 matches with folks named Price (also not my surname) all fizzled. The last and closest of them (with a Dr. Price) stands at a genetic distance of 4. I don't know what happened with the others. They are even further removed.

My score in Whit Athey's Y-Haplogroup Predictor went from 66 for R1b to 73 (anything over 50 is considered a good fit).

Now I am waiting for my Deep SNP-R1b in Batch 155 and for someone with my surname or one of its variants to test and match me or come close.

Thanks, FTDNA. I am very pleased.

So Batch 147 is still active.

Still waiting for markers 26-37, but the evening is young.

Am I the only nut still posting in the good ol' Batch 147 thread?

1,000 replies is the current goal, folks.
