It appears no one has received any results of any kind from Batch 147. From reading other posts, it seems any Rb1 Y12 results would probably have been received by now. Does this indicate there are none in Batch 147, or am I reading too much into this? I am a newbie and this is my first time out and I am only getting a Y12. I would have bet money I would turn out to be Rb1, but now I am wondering about that.

    • have you looked in a project for your surname?

The word "PROJECTS" is hidden in a string on links near the top of this page.

Click on PROJECTS and then look in the alphabetical order for your surname.

when you get into the PROJECT..look for the "RESULTS" LINK

There you will see people with their sequences exposed. You might find the majority are one group or another. you might make a guess at that point.

you can join the project for free also.

I've heard that from other guys here who turned out to be something other the R1b.

There's no way of knowing until you get your results.

Unless there are other men in your y-dna line who have been tested, that is.

I suspect ours is a big batch, and that might account for the fact that we have not gotten early results like some of the other batches.

It also seems that there are a lot of deep-clade tests that are already overdue that must be occupying much of the lab's time.

        Sigh . . .

Thanks M O'connor and Stevo. That helps. I am in the Gregory project, and there are no new results so far. To my knowledge, I am the first in my paper trail line to test. There are several of us involved in the research. Depending on my results, there may be others in my line who will also test.

            You're welcome.

Glad you're posting here in our crazy Batch 147 thread.

My last name is Stevens (which is also spelled Stephens sometimes). Unfortunately, it is a fairly common name. The y-dna results seem to run the gamut.

I think that I, too, am the first of my line to submit to dna testing, but we'll see. I am hoping for a match that will extend what I know back a generation or two.

Whether or not that happens, I will still be glad for the clues to my deep ancestry that the results of this test will bring.

            • Good morning!

              Good morning, Batch 147-ites!

What, no posts during the night?

Are we growing weary from waiting? (I am.)

              • more random post while waiting for results

I must have not hit the button last night...
I wrote a long-winded post that I'm glad I didn't send. It pointed out the obvious. Here's a short version.
I'm blessed with some relatives who have done a lot of work on our family genealogy. I seem to come from a whole bunch of folks who got to the English colonies in the 1600's to early 1700's. All my ancestral lines run back to England and Scotland (and 1 Finn back in the 1500's).

Except for that 1 line that carries the Y-chromosome.

I had a clue that my ydna was going to be Middle Eastern/Mediterranean since a relative tested first, but it I hadn't known, I would still be in shock.
I expect some of you folks who are first in your family to test may be in for a surprise. But that's the fun of it
                steve

PS While mtdna usually doesn't work very well for genealogy, it looks like I may be able to hook up with some new family from our results. We're blessed with a rare mutation for haplogroup K. There are only a few of us, names sound familiar to other folks, and all of our families come from England and were in the colonies early. We don't quite have the GEDCOMs connected, but I bet we do eventually. Now, if we could just connect Oetzi up with the family GEDCOM...
                Take care everyone,
                steve

The only two males I tested that yielded non-R1b results were from Haplogroup I. In both cases, I was notified by FTDNA the the results would take up tosix weeks past the original due date in order for them to run a FREE SNP test to ensure their findings! That's right, FREE!!!

                  What a bargain!

FTDNA has always done the free testing in the cases of a rare/new haplotype. It's one way that they've built their database up which allows them to project(?)/predict(?) the haplotype for most of us. We've had a couple of gentlemen who were tested gratis in the MacMillan study and they ended up being R1b.

I was too late to the game, and with too common of a haplotype, to get a free test.

                    • I'm not sure what I'll learn or what i get with the SNP test.

All i know is when someone gets snp results they start talking about P33 and M25 this and whatever that

I know those numbers are not valid..i'm just having fun. Anyway I guess I will have some SNP numbers to follow along and wonder about.

The 38-59 sequence won't help me yet..I don't even have any 37 matches in Y-Search. I will bring any common numbers from 38-59 to some other sites. I can use a few numbers after all.

                      • I do wish someone, anyone, for any reason, would receive some results from batch 147. At least then we would know there is hope.

                        • Yup, kids, I had my results from 144 by this point..

I had my y12 J2 results from 144 by this much before the due date.
Of course we're still over a week from the due date for this batch, and as people have said, I think there was a glut of 59 marker upgrades about the time of this batch.
                          Peace,
                          steve

Speaking of all those crazy letters and numbers, here are some maybe some of you can figure out.

                            R M PUPPIES?

                            S, M PUPPIES.

                            C M P N?

Wouldn't it be nice if they would just acknowledge that. Their silence is not golden, it is abrasive.

                                Yeah, but . . .

We haven't reached our target results date yet, so we aren't exactly overdue.

But I feel your pain, brother!
