    • I teach 6th grade science

We concentrate on Earth Science, so I haven't done too much with genetics with the kids.
I read my results and typed that post announcing them between classes; the Ayla comment was because my wife, has been stuck in bed for the past 2 months. She's pregnant (a girl) and she has had multiple bouts of premature labor. The baby is 35 weeks today, so we've dodged most of the premature baby danger. Anyway, she's been reading _Clan of the Cave Bear_. You remember Ayla, the main character. With some of the census results I saw from the middle 1800's I was really expecting some African mtdna haplogroup.

So maybe I really am descended from some beautiful blond who broke hearts all the way across Europe just after the last ice age...
      Take care everybody,
      steve

I wish you, your wife, and brand new daughter all the best.

I teach 8th grade Civics, but my degree is in History.

I took today off to have a root canal, which is now a part of my history. It didn't hurt at all; it was just uncomfortable, as is usually the case - at the very least - with dental procedures.

I asked the dentist about "Indian shovel teeth" and all that. He said my teeth look about like everyone else's: no shovels there. He did say the tooth he worked on for me had 4 canals, which is relatively uncommon. Most have only three. I don't know what significance that has, if any.

        Car 147, where are you?

            Aha! You're probably right.

I was too medicated and numb to think of that.

That fourth canal goes deeper than the others and attaches to the wallet.

              • I'm okay. I posted a couple of things yesterday after my root canal.

I'm still hoping for early results.

                • My doctor finally prescribed my sleeping pills.

Being retired is something..you can get tied up doing all kinds of nothings.

Just a little bit over 2 weeks to go till target date. Keep in mind humans are doing the delicate scientific work..

You insist on scaring us by reminding us that humans are involved in this thing!

                    Wish I was retired . . .

I am, sort of . . . but the check is too small, so I must continue to work for a living. Probably will have to go on doing that until they carry me away.

Two weeks to go . . . (until our target date, not 'til they carry me away, I hope!).

I'm still hoping for early results, at least for the first twelve markers.

                        Ahhh . . .

                        That's better!

I saw that a guy from Batch 146 got his Y-DNA results early. I hope the same happens for us.

                        C'mon 147!

                        • Hi there, Stevo! and Mr Denning... ( I think we should make Mr Denning an honorary member of the Batch 147 Alumni - he is by far the most memorable character here ). Myself, been busy setting up to try and include a DNA section on the Cullen Site but a new opportunity has presented itself. There's new co-admin at the worldfamilies site so maybe a partnership there.

Gotta get this stuff going... the date due is drawing near! Any bets on the actual dates the first Y results come back? I'm placing my bets on... I don't know, how about May 10'th?

I hope you're right or that the results are even earlier.

                            Tonight would be nice.

Do you remember old Bill Cullen, the popular '60s tv host of The Price is Right?

When I was a little kid I thought he was cool.

Was he one of your bunch?
