Thank you for ordering the Y-Refine37to59 test $109.00
(not the $99 group price, i have always payed full price.)

Family Tree DNA launches the world's tightest test for genealogy purposes coupled with Haplogroup prediction: the Y-DNA 67-marker test!

      Date: May 20, 2006 1:53AM
We are excited to announce that the lab was able to add an additional panel of markers. While this has caused a slight delay, we feel it is worth it to provide the most complete set of results possible to our customers.

      Date: Jun 28, 2006 9:01 PM
We expect to have results returned in about 1-2 weeks for your batch.

      Date: Jul 7, 2006 4:39 PM
We do not have any partial results for the 67 marker upgrade for your
      sample.

We expect to have results returned in about 1-2 weeks for your batch.

      My Birth Month is August
I can't belive I payed full price for this test and get a bad service.
This is my last purchase from FTDNA

      • DNA Results

I have been following your posts concerning familyDNAresults. You have provided much more information than I have been able to receive from the company. I did want to let others know that our results 37-67 upgrade from batch 150 due 6/12 did just post. Hopefully others will soon have their results also. Waiting can be so difficult.

        • As a project co-administrator I can survey the 38-to-67 situation for my entire project, under Unreceived Lab Results:

          Missing 38-47, 48-60, 61-67: batches 146, 146, 147, 155, 157, 158, 159, 160, 161

          Missing 38-47, 48-60: batch 148

          Missing 38-47, 61-67: batch 149

          Missing 48-60: batch 146

          Missing 61-67: batch 149

Fully complete: 2 customers (batches not known)

If we assume, as per the previous post, that FTDNA has run 38-to-67 tests on batches through 150, we can see that the problem is FTDNA's current failure rate for these panels:

9 38-to-67 customers in batches up to 150, 3 panels per customer => 27 panels

          Successful panels: 2*3 + 2*2 + 2*1 = 12.

In other words, FTDNA's success rate on these panels is only 44%.

          • Here are the number of completed successful panels (among batches up to 150), by haplogroup:

            R1b: 0/3, 0/3
            I1b: 0/3, 3/3
            R1a: 1/3, 2/3
            I1a: 3/3
            J: 2/3
            E3b: 1/3

I am surprised. I would have expected FTDNA to have tested its procedures on R1b most heavily of all, and perhaps to have even tuned its procedures for it. R1b is not only the haplogroup of the largest percentage of FTDNA customers, it is also the haplogroup that arguably needs the new markers the most.

            • The waiting is too long

As a customer, I am not happy either. In the past I only waited 10-14 days extra, but now it seems like it's months rather than weeks. I understand they're venturing into new territory, but still... I will be more careful next time when I consider paying for a new service. Right now I'm waiting on two orders, both of them being past due (2.5 months and 2 months, respectively). And I thought the government was slow...

That's good news, Dan. Now if we can just get reports on M37 and P66, we'll be in business!

I agree! I just hope at least one of them turns positive, otherwise we'll have to wait until they are testing new SNPs, callibrating them, etc...

Maybe not. Have you heard the R1b News?

My project is still waiting for two 38-to-67 upgrades in batch 146.

Hey, Jukka, why did you delete your Ysearch entry? We need your O1a to decide whether any other predicted-N people are actually O.

Yeah, I just finished reading the messages... Is FTDNA doing any testing on the S? If one of the M37 or P66 turns positive, that would make me an R1b1c1 (Iberia) or R1b1c8 (Italy), respectively.

                              For the S series,

R1b1c9 (S21) = 20% of tested Western Europeans, from Italy north to Shetland (in the latter it becomes 40%) of R1b. About 9,000 years old.

R1b1c10 (S28) = invader staus indicator in Britain, most likely Anglo-Saxon

                              R1b1c9b (L1 S26, DYS439=0), only found in S21+

R1b1c11 (S25) because of DYS463 = 0. Possibly 18% in Britain. About 60% of R1b1c could fall into one of the sister subgroup clades.

How do you upload the 38-67 markers to Y-search database? I could only post 3 of the new markers, the other loci seem to be different...
