    birthday?

I suppose this is just a variation of a usual whine
Is there and chance a y-12 test from batch 144 might be ready by 4/21; the results are a birthday present.
From what I can see from other results this doesn't look likely...

        mtdna

Hi, I'm from batch 144 also. Can't wait to see results of my mtdna. My DNAprint that I had done a few years ago came up with 2%East Asian, 12%Native American, and 86%Indo-European. Current test may come up with more info.

          messing up results time

Hmmn... Family Tree's new pricing for the y12-y25 upgrade might be within the family petty cash budget. If I did the upgrade right now, would it delay getting the y12 results back? What has been people's experience on this?

I know that doing the bigger tests piecemeal may be more expensive, but it's easier to explain spending $49 than it is to explain $169...
I bet we're a pretty funny bunch to people who already have their results I'm 53 years old, I've been thinking of doing this test for about 2 years, and now, all of a sudden, it's an emergency.

I can't wait to get my results though. In the mean time I'm going to pretend that I'm actually related to the J2e (old notation) fellow that the paper trail says I should be related to, and explore the web...

            re: upgrade timeframe

ftdna says that an upgrade would have not delay the original test.

I'm just curious when they set the target results date; some other people on the list seem to know when they do an order. I emailed, and they said the target date hadn't been set yet. Is that normal?

                  Thanks, Jim

Thanks again for your help. I know there must be a web page describing the mechanics of how FTDNA does their testing, but I haven't found it yet. I did a lab course in molecular biology way, way back when, so I may understand it a little...

This is getting interesting. There are only 2 people at this point in our surname project. The other guy already has a result back. We should match.

                        Of course...

I changed back and forth 2 or 3 times, between should and might...
I look like my grandfather, but beyond that, who knows?
I had a friend in high school who looked just like his father. He was adopted. We'll see.

I mean he looked exactly like his adopted father not, his biological father, who was unknown. I gotta read those posts before hitting send.

                            Batch 144

My DH is in this batch also. FTDNA has been doing a great job of getting most results in before the expected date. I did just have one in one of my projects take 2 months, though, so you never know. But my money is on the majority of #144 coming in soon.... Several I know of have taken only about 4 weeks from 'kit received' to results being posted. His birthday was yesterday and I did have my hopes up for a bizarre sort of birthday present (he'd MUCH rather have new golf clubs) but it didn't work out

                              Real close (I hope)

I just saw a batch 143 result; we're a week behind them. I've got to quit holding my breath.
