What does this mean? I have never gotten a message like this for any of my kits when they were batched. This is for my cousin's FF kit in Batch 501 with a due date of 3/1/2013. It was just batched today.
"Your expected date has recently been updated to reflect the current timeframe for your results to be ready. We sincerely appreciate your continued patience and cooperation. One of the following circumstances applies to you: 1) We have recently received your DNA collection kit and have begun testing. 2) Multiple attempts have been made to test the DNA we had stored in our lab. All attempts failed to pass our strict quality control standards. If we have no additional vials of DNA stored, you will be sent an additional collection kit so that we may continue testing. 3) We are waiting for you to return the DNA collection kit we sent to you. The expected date only applies to those of you who have remaining DNA stored in our lab for testing."

I have that too, now.
My kit clearly falls into category 1) - and FTDNA obviously know that, since they are the ones who told me.
Further, in my case - and I believe this applies to anyone, who did not order FF as an upgrade and who just had their kit received by FTDNA - 2) and 3) are not true.
Why would FTDNA even batch a test, for which no DNA is available ?
By giving their customers such an unclear message, FTDNA perhaps hope to generate even more work for their customer support...
I just noticed that Family Finder has had its expected date shifted to: 3/18/2013....
Perhaps on the plus side, the disconcerting "Your expected date has recently been updated to reflect the current timeframe for your results" - message has disappeared...
I've got a cousins 1-37 in this batch. Don't think it'll come in early as they seem to be really far behind. Batch 497 was due yesterday and it's still not done.
I am also in this batch with my great uncle results. His Y-DNA results (37 STRs) are already there. I am still waiting for FTDNA Y-haplogroup prediction (no date given) and his FMS (expected the 27/03/2013)
I sent in my kit mid-January (Y-DNA37, mtDNAPlus) with results pending for the first week of March. Got the first results Y-DNA-12 the last week of February. Since then the results have been pushed up to mid-March, and now to the latter part of March. I remember seeing a message from FT indicating that some software had to be re-programmed or something like that. However, looks like messages are not kept on your account page.
