    Kit

Lucky you. I live in the UK ($20 postage) & ordered my kit 28 July. Still nothing. And the site won't let me in with my username and password.

I ordered it on 10/12 and they received it on 10/26. So I would give it a little bit longer.

I just checked my kit for the 2 nd time today and know it is in Quality Control .

Does anyone know about this yet I found it in the FAQS https://genographic.nationalgeograph...etween-1-geno2

"In addition, participants will have the opportunity to choose to register for the Genographic online community to connect with other participants and find shared ancestry, helping to fill in the gaps between what you may know about your recent genealogy and your genetic results. This element was not available during the first phase of the Genographic Project."

            Thank you

Yeah, I knew about it but I do not think you can sign-up for it yet. They will probably do that after more results come in.

What did your page say about the Quality Control?

I am at 60% so I am not on Quality Control yet. I thought you had reached that stage so I wanted to know what that entailed.

IMO, this implies something either like FF, or some type of matching a la Ancestry with the DNA connection to the trees, but i could be wrong. A few months ago, I asked one of the customer service reps at FTDNA whether or not GENO2.0 results would be added to the FF database, and he told me that they didn't know yet. Does anyone have an update on that?

As for the quick turn around time between 40% and 60%, I'm wondering if they're trying to get a number of kits completed since Spencer Wells is speaking in Italy at a European DNA conference tomorrow (11/9) where he will be making public the yDNA SNPs that are being tested.

                          From a post at Rootsweb:

"Spoke with Spencer Wells for about 15 minutes. He said that raw results
would be available for download. He said that they will a social media
type set up for those who match to be able to compare common regions and
surnames. I personally was interested in his claim that the new test
will be able to distinguish both on the Y and the autosomal results,
                          English from German ancestry."

Sounds like most of you ordered your kit direct from National Geographic. What is the difference between that and when you pay the $15 through FTDNA? So confused.

No I am at 60% like you but that is 'Analysis' not Quality Control. Quality Control is 'underway.' Also, I think Quality Control is 80% not 100% as I stated earlier - oops!
