I received notification that my Family Finder and my mtDNA are due in on October 31, 2012. I'm excited to have a date, but it seems so far off.

My FF is not in batch 480 but is due around the same time. It does feel like a long wait

my DNA is in batch 480, but it said it would be ready on Oct. 22, so maybe yours will be done sooner, too.

Apparently my results came in quite early already on 9/30, even though it said it was due in on10/22.

Wow, and you are in Batch 480? Mine are due October 31. Hope they will come earlier as I received Known Relationships this week. I've been working furiously to try to match 3rd cousins, but having a very hard time. Our full Gedcom's aren't on there so you can't see where there might be a match with Known Relationships.

              Yep! Batch 480!

Yep! I'm in batch 480! Check out the population feature, where it has a map. That is where I discovered my results, along with the order summary which stated that the order was complete. My results said I am 100 % European, with 91% Western, and 9% central. I thought maybe I would turn out with some Native American ancestry, or part Jewish, or something else exotic, but no, just European. My mother always told me I was English, Irish, and Scottish, but my test said I am French, Spanish, Orcadian, and 9% italian(tuscan)or Romanian. The British Isles were highlighted on my map, so maybe I do have English, Irish and Scotch.
Goodluck on your research, I hope your results help you find your cousin. I have a fourth cousin that I found on ftdna.

I got the population map also, but not my results from the tests I took. I assumed that the population was from the Gedcom that I uploaded. I figured they were taking my family that I already know about and populating it. My tests still show pending and due October 31, 2012.

                  Linda,

Did you see my second response in the thread that you started a few days ago? I explained that if you have matches, then your Family Finder test is complete. If you ordered Family Finder plus mtDNA, then it's just your mtDNA that's still pending.

OK--that helps. Now I'm trying to unzip my files. I have Windows 7, but I can't seem to unzip it. I followed the help menu, but it just didn't work. You are supposed to right click the mouse and Extract All appears. Didn't happen for me. Any ideas?

I forgot to tell you that our background is very similar. I am 92% western European and 8% the Tuscan, Romanian, and Sicilian. That is weird that we match in that way.

My mTdna came back today. Wow, I have no clue what to do with it. It must have taken me two weeks to figure out the Family Finder. This is way more complicated.
