Completion of Big Y after receiving 111 results?
    by I_2
    Hi all,

Not really a "grumble" per se, but my Big Y kit has been analysed for around a month now. About a week ago I got the 111 results (no email, just happened to log into my account and stumbled accross it) which only seemed to get me a predicted (not confirmed) Y haplogroup...

    New Subgrouping Issue
    by Jim Barrett
I have a new project member. Of course he is ungrouped until I group him. However when I go to 'Member Subgrouping' and click on 'Manage Ungrouped' the kit isn't listed. I do have 'Limited' access to the kit. I have notified the 'Help Desk'.

Quick question about my wife's C1c results
    by I_2
Hi, my wife's results came back as C1c, and in the video they prepared for her it said she was related to a Beothuk woman called Demasduit. When they say "related", do you know if they mean in the sense that everyone sharing her haplogroup has a common ancestor, or do they mean more closely...

Connection with Geni has not worked since February
    by teepean

I was wondering what is the situation with connecting DNA results with Geni as it has not been working since February 12th. According to Geni the problem lies at the FTDNA end. Any estimates when the functionality will be fixed?

    Family Finder yields
    by stennor
Have you ever wondered how many of your potential Family Finder matches actually show up on your match list? As you know, your mother gives you half of her DNA and your father gives you half of his, so half of your parents' DNA isn't a factor in DNA matching here at FTDNA. The result is that your match...

Why no Haplogroup or Origins data in test results?
    by JillGat
Hi, I administer a YDNA37 test for a relative, and the results are missing the haplogroup and any data on ancestry/origins. I don't find information about this problem on the site and no one from FTDNA has contacted me to explain why this would be (I chatted with an FTA staff person who said they would...

    My adoption
    by Micky308
I was conceived in Vietnam during the conflict and my father’s an American service man and Mum was an Australian entertainer anyway she returned home and gave me up for adoption. I found her sixteen years ago and after taking a DNA test I’ve found out most of what she told me was a lie. I feel like...

    Y-DNA SNP kits
    by DJ Brooks
For the Y-DNA SNPs product (not the packs), does this cover all the MAJOR downstream branches, as opposed to the sub-branch SNPs of an Y-DNA SNP Pack? For instance, if I purchased the E-U174 test does this test for major downstream branches like E-Z5961, E-CTS7305, E-CTS2754, E-CTS9387, etc.? I do not...
