SMGF compared with FTDNA results for Afro mtDNA

This is a summary of a post from another DNA forum which I thought was important for those with four CA repeats in their mtDNA to 524C

rCRS 481 ctcatcaata caacccccgc ccatcctacc cagcacacac acaccgctgc taaccccata (note there are 5 CA or AC repeats)

Are the AC or CA repeating 4 times to 524C in African mtDNA? It is difficult to tell.

This causes mismatches with SMGF (523d and 524d) and FTDNA (522- and 523-) data (which turns out to be the same thing when using the Gene Tree or SMGF data bank).
